Vacation Day 4 & 5

Monday we are still in Kahului, Maui. Today we visited one of Maui's most beautiful and popular attractions. At the Maui Tropical Plantation, we enjoyed a fully narrated 40-minute tram tour of the plantation's agricultural villages, macadamia nut orchards, sugar cane fields and flower gardens, and even see demonstrations of coconut husking and a fruit tasting. They grew coffee, avocados, and lots of flowers. The plantation was very interesting and we learned a lot of things. Like pineapple doesn't grow on a tree it grows in the ground with just the crown showing. The plantation also had two monkey and Chase liked watching the monkeys swinging and jumping around. Chase and Cody had a lot of land to run around in.

Cody Running Around

Very Cool Monkey
Tonight back on the ship, was formal night. I had decided that the boys needed to go to the Kids club again while we ate dinner and then I would go and get them dressed in their suits for family pictures. We were dressed up in suits and long dresses. We went to dinner at the main dining room called "Skyline". Food was delicious and even the waiter was a good server. Dinner was the best so far in my opinion. We got the boys dressed and we took pictures and took the boys back to Kids Club.

Chase and Cody after a long evening of playing.

Tonight's theme at Kids Club was Prince and Princess. And they were dressed just like a prince in their suits. They made crowns out of paper with beads and glitter. They even had a parade through the ship to show off everyone crowns.

We went to The Not-So-Newlywed Game. They took 4 couples that had volunteered out of the audience and hide one half -the guys first- and asked the women questions about their relationships to how they met. The guys then came out to try to come up with the same answers. Then the men were asked questions and the women had to match their husbands answers. It was very cute on how the answers were different and some were the same!! Good time at that show.

Monday night we set sail at 6pm for Hilo, Hawaii.

Tuesday when we woke up we were in a totally different place. Hilo, Hawaii (The Big Island) is more industrial then Maui.

This was the second largest city in Hawaii with about 38,000 people living here. Hilo is America's wettest city, over 120" annually. So today, we decided to check out a beach one the bartenders had said was very pretty. It was called "The Black Sand Beach". The sand is black because it is made up of crushed volcano rock, Lava. The sand is very course, the water cold but pretty scenery. We played in the sand and some of us got into the water. I guess once you got into the water, it was warmer but I couldn't get past the cold part.

We also went into the town of Hilo and did some shopping. We were craving some Mexican food and margaritas. Found a local Mexican food restaurant and had a good lunch there and some even better margaritas. We all bought souvenirs, clothes, and candy walking along the street in downtown Hilo.
Tonight's dinner was at Little Italy. The food was good there. After dinner we sat at the Aft party bar and had some cocktails and listened to the water. We were already on our way to the next stop Kona, Hawaii.
The boys were in Kids Club again having a great time dressing up like Pirates. They also were having cookies and pictures with the captain of the ship. They said that they might be able to drive the ship also. I don't think they trusted them enough to do that. I bet you that Cody would be able to drive it better than the Captain himself!! Chase and Cody brought home there treasures from the treasure hunt also. They brought back beads, balls and shoelaces. They also had there faces painted like a real pirate!!

Vacation Day 2 & 3

Saturday we board the ship "The Pride of America" Norwegian Cruise Line.

We check out the ship and start to unpack our bags as the arrive at our stateroom. I also check out the daycare center that is on board "The Rascal's Kid Club". Chase and Cody get to play here anytime they want. When the Kids Club opened at 8pm I used that for the boys and we went to dinner. We went to the Lazy J Steakhouse on board the ship. We missed the entertainment for that night because dinner took 1 1/2 hours. Chase and Cody did a lot of drawing, coloring and painting tonight. They had fun.

The ship set sail about 8:00pm for Kahului, Maui. We arrived about 8:00am at our first port. Today we decided to go to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium. We saw so many very cool fish, turtles, and sharks. Cody slept through a lot of the walking around. Chase really liked watching the turtles in this big tank. They had a bunch of different species of fish. Very interesting and everyone seemed to have a good time.

We got back to the ship just in time for Chase to take a nap and Cody ran around a little bit while Chase slept. We were still getting used to the time difference. I did drop the boys off at the Kids Club at 6pm and then we went to dinner. We all went to the Little Italy Restaurant on the ship. We also saw the great Comedy of Chris Alpine. He was funny. He would pick people out of the audience and make "fun" at them. We laughed a lot during his show.

While at the Kids Club the boys theme tonight is Birthday Parties with Dora. They made birthday hats and were given balloons. They had their pictures taken also. They were even able to eat a little bit of cake - because what's a birthday party without cake. They also received a birthday present which was a very cute stuffed bunny. They defiantly were having a good time when we went a picked them up.

We had a wonderful time on our vacation - but we are all glad to back home. We are trying to get our routine back and getting the time changed again is a challenge. Throughout the next week or so I will go back on my trip and do pictures and stories. A great time had by all. I am so glad that Chase and Cody was able to spend quality time with lots of family - including Grandpa and Grandma and Aunt and Uncle.

So now I get to update myself on all my blog friends and what has been happening in their lives while I was soaking up the sun in Hawaii!!

Day 1 Vacation

We started our vacation at 7am leaving the house and going to the airport. We had to catch a 10:30am flight to Honolulu, HI. The flight is 5 hours long. This was Cody and Chase's first airplane ride. They were excited and really didn't know what to think. They did really good though. They slept the first 2 hours of it and then was awake for the remaining flight. We did a lot of walking throughout the cabin of the airplane. We landed at 1:30pm HI time and checked into the hotel. That afternoon hung out and looked around the beautiful hotel. They had peguins, turtles, flamingos and lots, and lots of ponds with coy fish in them. It was a beautiful hotel. We were trying to get used to the time change also. Just a 3 hour difference behind us orginially.
Here are the pictures as promsed:

Weekend Post...

Friday - It was not a very lovely day. Very traumatic for Cody. Chase and Cody had dentist appointments. This was not the first time that they had went to the dentist. We had been there a couple of times before for x-rays and just a little look at by the dentist. This time it was a real cleaning. Neither of them really liked the x-rays. Cody was first to get his teeth cleaned and boy he didn't like it. He cryed, screamed and was bright red by the time that Lindsey (the hygienist) got done. Chase on the other hand was completly calm and had a great time having his teeth cleaned for him. They both brought home balloons and bouncy balls.
We also went to get haircuts, something else that Cody dosen't like. He cryed through that also. Chase was smiling and flurting with all the girls and playing with the water squirt bottle. After the haircuts I figured that they needed some play time and lunch so we went to McDonalds. It was hot but the boys played outside in the equipment for the first time. They wouldn't do the big slides by themselfs, so I climbed in there with them and we all rode down together. It was fun and the boys even got ice cream for being such good boys.

Saturday - We went out and visited my grandparents. Chase and Cody always have fun doing that. They love thier great-grandma and great-papa. They played with thier bikes and cars with them and had fun playing with the neighbors puppy"shadow".

Sunday - We had a 4 year old birthday party to go to for Hailey and Hannah. It was a princess themed party. Cinderalla came to the party also. Cody sat on her lap while everyone was coloring. They also played games with the other kids and Cinderalla. It was a great party. The boys also had delicious cake that Nadine made. Very good. Chase and Cody left with two balloons. And played with the balloons the whole rest of the night. I will leave you with a few pictures from the party.

Baseball here we come...

Chase loves to balls. Any kind of ball. He always has a ball in his hand. We can play all afternoon throwing balls. And he has a arm on him. Now he likes to bat. They got baseballs and bats for their birthday (from the Morgans) and Chase loves to bat the ball now. So thought I would share a couple of the video's of him batting.

Way Back When-sday

This week's way back picture - isn't so way back. I am only taking it back about 9 months. They were 17 months old here - almost 18 months. We are at the desert and I was busy fixing dinner and they were bored. This is how I found them playing with the qtips, baby tylenol (that was still sealed), sunscreen and the stuff that they are not allowed to play with. I still think it is a very cute picture!!

Brotherly Love

These guys really do love each other. Even though the constant hitting, taking toys from each other and the crying gets in the way. When they are both in a good mood they get along good with each other, as you can see with these pictures.

Water & Plastic Bags

Today we played with the garden hose. They squirted each other and Steve and I. This started after we went on a Rhino ride. Chase asked to go on a ride. He will keep saying "rhino" over and over so we took them on a little ride. We went down to the local store and thought we were getting slushies - but the machine was broken so they ended up with orange shorbert push-up ice creams. By the time we came home they push-ups were quite melted. That is were the water came in. As you can see everyone was wet, but had a good time.

As you can see I really need to recycle my grocery bags. The bags fell out of the cabinet when I was trying to bag them into one bag. Chase and Cody had fun throwing, running and playing in them. They also were great help after playing in them and picked them all up for me and put them into one big bag. Thanks guys for all your help!!

Who needs all the toys that they have when they have water and plastic bags!!
