Makes My Monday

This weekend turned out quite fun! We went to the desert to the 48th Annual Terra Del Sol Jeep Run in Truckhaven by Salton City. The weather called for 70% rain on Saturday, so I wasn't so excited about going but we are troopers and we went along with 7 other families.

We woke up Saturday morning to very pretty blue skies and nice weather.


At this jeep run, there are over 1200 jeeps register to go onto a designated path following arrows. Green arrows to stay where it's easy driving and just hanging out kind of fun. There are other colored arrows that lead to more difficult jeeping that Steve and the jeeps went on. The rhino people, including myself, stayed on the green arrows. While going on the more difficult stuff, Kevin broke his power steering pump on his jeep. The breaking of jeeps is a very common problem when you do the kind of jeeping they do with the jeeps. So it took them 2 1/2 hours to fix this. We waited for the jeeps for about 2 hours and were watching the black clouds roll in and decided we wanted to get back to the motorhomes before the rain started. The jeeps came rolling into camp about an hour later, Kevin still broke. It was very cold with a lot of wind that night.

We woke up to it raining in the desert. The ground starting getting saturated with wet sand and we were afraid to wait much longer to get the motorhome out so we wouldn't get stuck in the mud. It was coming down in a good sprinkle.


These are the skies that tell you that it is raining. As Steve started moving the motorhome, we had to go over a little bump and the back wheels started turning and spinning, yes we were stuck. We needed a tow out of this soft sand. Here they are hooking the motorhome up to this Bronco.

The bronco got us out unstuck...Thank you!! The kids actually loved being outside in the rain and spent about 30 minutes watching underneath the cover of the rhino trying to stay dry.


We still had a good weekend and just being with family and friends was fun!

Two for Twos-day

We had an awesome weekend, taking the 3-day weekend to go to the desert. Meet up with some friends, do some jeeping and rhino putting around, and the boys were riding their quads!

This weekend I didn't get a bunch of pictures of the boys together just a bunch of individual ones, but I did snap this one as they were getting ready for a put around in the rhino on Sunday.

They are learning how to put the seat belts together, so Chase was concentrating on that.

Two for Twos-day

There were still some Mickey Mouse watching going on in my motorhome throughout the weekend even though it was a beautiful day outside with lots of dirt to be dug in.

Makes My Monday

This weekend, we spent at the desert, Glamis, with 5 other families. We don't normally go to Glamis because the jeep isn't set up for the soft sand, so instead we just took the Rhino and had a great time.

The weather was perfect and really on the warmer side. We spent Saturday looking at big, blue beautiful skies, the boys spent a lot of time bunch of riding quads and playing in the dirt.

Cody didn't feel 100% all weekend, but he was a trooper and still had a great time. I am hoping that whatever he has will pass today. He just has no symptoms just not feeling good.

These dump trucks were ran everywhere in our circle, all the kids had a similar dump truck and it was always filled with dirt!

Happy New Year!

We got home on Sunday, but with the 15 loads of laundry I did and trying to get the house in order from Christmas and being gone, my blog has suffered!





I have missed everyone and can't wait to go back and read what I have missed. I am hoping to do that today and tonight.





We had a wonderful time at the desert for a week and differently going to do it again next year.





I did stay up until midnight to celebrate the New Year!

That says 2010 in fire...what a way to ring in the new year!

Out to the Desert Again!

I packed and cleaned all day yesterday to get away to the desert for a whole week!

So you won't here from me until next Monday...I will miss you.

I will have some posts going to post throughout the week of things that we did over the holiday's and picture that were taken.

Makes My Monday

We are home!

We had a wonderful time at the desert and a great Thanksgiving dinner.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving also.

To the Desert

We will be spending all weekend at the desert, including eating our Thanksgiving dinner there!!

We can't wait and look forward to these 6 days there all year!!

We are at the desert this weekend! Our first of many too come over the next 4-5 months!

Weekend at the Desert

We again went to the desert this weekend. It was a very relaxed weekend with only going on one Rhino ride to Sand Dam at Superstition Mountain. The flowers this weekend were very pretty. The weather was very warm on Friday and Saturday morning. The wind started to blow on Saturday afternoon and all night. Sunday we woke up to a little breeze and sun. Great weather. On the way home, we ran into lots of rain and wind, but we all made it home safely.

Weekend Update

We went to the desert this weekend. We went to a huge (over 1000) jeep were there, jeep run. The jeep run took place out at Borrego Springs The flowers are coming out and starting to be very pretty. The trails were very hard in the rhino, it seemed like I was having a hard time, for some reason. My arms are still sore from driving. There were lots of rocks in my way and I had to drive over and around them. We still had fun. The weather was perfect!

2009

Happy New Year!!

We spent the holiday in the desert. I didn't make it to midnight my time, but I am sure it was somewhere in the country! It was very cold and the fire just wasn't putting out enough heat to make it worth staying awake. The boys were so tired that they were asleep about 8pm.

We had a great time, riding quads and playing in the dirt.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a better 2009.

In the Desert

Today we are in the desert. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving - I hope you all did too. More on how the weather treated us when I get back.

We have planned today to go Jeeping and Rhinoing. (Two words that I probably just made up but that's what we call it.) We will go and find the goat trails that we can climb on and jeep. Now sometimes these goat trails lead us to places that make the Jeep go up in the air only on two wheels. That's when it gets fun!

This is my husbands fun. He loves it and so do I. We did the fast buggy thing in the sand and I don't like going fast. This is at a snails pace even though you are on two wheels sometimes.

Now that we have Chase and Cody I take them out in the Rhino (which they love) and tootle around with them. I will have to get some pictures of us in the rhino because I don't have any. So more too come on that.

Going to the Desert

Today we are on our way to the desert to spend Thanksgiving. We go out the day before Thanksgiving and spend the weekend. This has been a tradition that Steve and I have done since the year we started to date. We have friends and family that come out and spend the weekend also. On Thanksgiving, we have a potluck Turkey dinner. This year Steve family will be camping with us also.

So to continue on my posting everyday promise, I will schedule some posts, since I won't have the internet in the desert. I know I don't know what I am going to do without my interent extended family for 5 days, but I hoping I will survive.
