Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Honey!

Steve is turning 34 years old today!

This picture was taken last year on his birthday. I had a small dinner party with just family. This year he is going out to dinner with his mom and dad, and the guy who building the race car. They need to talk about race car stuff! I will be going to a school parent meetings to talk about Kindergarten (which isn't for another 1 1/2 years, but I want to get the scoop now.)

We will be having a little dinner and cake for him in a couple of nights. The boys want to sing him Happy Birthday!

From this Thanksgiving...Steve and Big K setting up one of the deep fryers used to cook one of the 5 turkeys we deep fried for our huge Thanksgiving dinner!
We had about 50 people and a huge long table all put together out in the middle of nature in the middle of the desert. Where the sky was as beautiful as possible and the weather was perfect!!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day, Steve!

Thanks for being a great dad!

Thanks for all the fun stuff you teach us!

Today, we are having Chase and Cody's Grandpa and Grandma and Cousin Christina up for some lunch to celebrate the day.
Chase helped me pick out our menu. Steve asked his what he wanted to at for lunch (tomorrow) with Steak (we are actually having Tri-Tip, but to him it's Steak)...
Chase's reply: Salad, then after thinking again said applesauce, we asked him anything else he said Gatoraide, of course we need something to drink, and then he said Corn. I told him that he had just completed my menu for lunch - we are also having this really delicious chocolate cake.

Destruction Derby

On Thursday, we headed up to a little town in Central California called Firebaugh. We headed up there for the 10th annual Destruction Derby put on by CIOMA. This was our 4th year going and did we have a blast. On Saturday, Steve drove a car for the company that he works for. If you don't know what a Destruction Derby is let me explain.

You take a old car and make it safe by taking out the windshield, putting 4 point safety belts in it, weld the trunk and doors closed and some other minor things to the car. This was Steve car that he drove.

You take a rodeo arena and a whole bunch of mud. You put drivers in the cars and let them crash into each other.

And this is what you get.

A lot of crashed up cars with mud on them and a lot of smoke coming from the radiators.

There were 3 heats with 8-10 cars in each heat. The last two remaining cars still being driven are moved onto the finals. Steve drove in the 3rd heat. His car broke and needed a new fuel pump, which he couldn't fix, so he was out of the running. It was fun none the less.

Steve's boss, Matt, won the event and we were so happy. The trophy now stays in the company two years in a row!!

Sunday, we drove home the 8 hours - we were all tired but it was a great weekend.

Jeeping at Thanksgiving

I had mentioned in a previous post that Steve had rolled the jeep in the desert when we were there for Thanksgiving. This happened on Friday after Thanksgiving. I don't have any pictures of the actual roll over but just the damage that is caused.

I guess he went off a hill to the passenger side that he thought he could climb down and instead rolled down the hill and crashed. He and his passenger, Daniel, hit so hard that they bounced back onto all four tires. They both were okay, didn't get hurt. They were a little sore the next day though.

They were able to fix the jeep and he went out jeeping on Saturday. Here are some pictures of that.

Grandparents and Fishing

Chase, Cody and I went out to my grandparents house on Sunday. The boys have fun playing in the dirt and riding thier bikes. They also look for bugs with Papa and they get so excited when they find a bug. Cody and Chase also helped Papa pull some weeds and put them in a box. They played ball with Grandma. Grandma always has good things to eat also, so much better then what mom brings for them to eat.

While we visiting grandparents, Steve was fishing in the Pacific Ocean. He left on Saturday night with my cousin. They were going with a few friends on a friends boat. They were trying to catch Albacore. The boat was 26' long, the waves are very big in the ocean. They had a great time went as far as 15 miles south on Encenada, Mexico. They were able to snag a few on the line but they all got away. Needless to say, after 24 hours of fishing and no catching, everyone was very tired. Steve says he can't wait to do it again and maybe next time they will actually catch something.

Also an update on Chase and Cody sleeping in the toddler beds. They are doing well actually. They haven't fallen off in the last couple of nights, that I know of. Chase has slept through the night also. Cody still wakes up and he wants Milk. We are not giving anything to drink except for water when they wake up. After a short stay in our bed he falls asleep and back into his bed he goes. They have been napping very well in the beds though. They still sleep about 2-2 1/2 hours for a nap. It is so funny how they sleep so differently, Cody likes to have every blanket and stuffed animal around him and snuggled up with him. Chase doesn't like anything except his blankie, he doesn't even like blankets on him.
