Way Back When-sday

Age: 14 months

Location: In Montana at Yellowstone National Park. One of the many beautiful geysers that we saw that day. They really didn't want to sit there and have this picture taken. This is one of our many memories of this trip.

Two for Twos-day

Playing along with Deanna at Eight is Great with Two for Twos-days.

Chase hanging out with his cousin Tyler.

Sweet Angel

My heart is breaking to tell you this message...in the words of Brooke, mother of Sydney and Carynne.

"Sydney joined her sister at 6:45 last evening. When Carynne passed yesterday, her heart just gave up and we tried to recucitate her. We called the ambulance and she was taken to the hospital. I rode in thepolice car while Jake stayed with Sydney. When I walked into the ERthe doctors were waiting to tell me that she had passed.

Today, Sydney was struggling the entire day and we could only turn heroxygen up to a certain level without blowing up her lungs. When wegot to that point, I just held her in my arms and Jake held her hands. We had two nurses here with us and they watched the monitors as sheslowly decreased. We just held her and let her take her last breathsin our arms.

She stayed with us for about an hour before they came to pick her up.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, adivision of Flanner and Buchanan. This might sound bad, but I amthankful that they went so close together so they didn't miss each other too much. We are going have both services at the same time some time later this week."

Very sad.

Weekend Update

We had a wonderful weekend. The highlight of our weekend was a Braden's

2nd birthday party. We had a lot of fun!

Cody being shy right after getting to the party.

Chase eyeing the cheese balls.

All the Chase and Cody's friends were their. They saw a clown for the first time, Frannie the Clown.
What a great clown she was. She did face and arm painting, bubbles, and balloon animals

Chase got alligators on both arms. Frannie the clown did the first one in green and he said he wanted a black alligator.

Chase styling his new hat.
Cody and his new balloon friend.
We had a pinata also. Chase hit the pinata but Cody wouldn't take a swing at it. We had cake and ice cream and sang happy birthday!

Very Sad News

If you remember my post a few weeks ago about my "virtual" friend, Brooke, and her twin girls, Sydney and Carynne, battling the disease Werding-Hoffman disease. Brooke and her family lost Carynne yesterday morning early. I have been told that she died peacefully in her sleep. My thoughts are with Brooke, her family and Sydney the sister that was left behind.

We are still fundraising money for the family for funeral expenses and future medical expenses for Sydney. If you would like to donate go to my original post and there is a link. If you would like to say your condolence click here.

Changing Clothes

We had a very uneventful weekend. It rained a lot here so we stayed in inside and played.
Chase is now learning how to pick out and change his clothes. So on Saturday, he changed his clothes a lot. No wonder why I am doing so much laundry. It seems like I do it more now than I did when they were newborn.

This is what he put on first thing in the morning. Not matching and remember it was raining but he still had to have short on.

About a hour later he put on pants - still not matching because he was cold.
He then told me that he had to have green short on and he didnt like that shirt anymore.
About a hour after that he needed new shorts on, this time brown shorts. He does match at least now - if only it 90 degrees out and sunny he would have been all set!

Valentine Craft

I saw this craft in a magazine and thought it would be a perfect gift for Chase and Cody to give to their teachers for Valentine's Day.

Supplies:

A few sheets of different colored construction paper
Scissors
Double Sided tape
Marker
Bottle of hand lotion
I traced around the boys hand for thier hand prints on the construction paper

I then cut out the hand prints out of the paper with the scissors

Next on the cut out hand prints I wrote "You deserve a hand" with the marker. I also cut out a couple of odd shaped hearts and attached them to the cut out hand print with the double sided tape.

I then attached the cut out hand print to the hand lotion bottle with another piece of double sided tape.

The boys have 4 teachers that I like to give little things to them for the holiday's and to tell them thanks for taking care of the boys for me. It was very simple and turned out cute.

Close Call

Tonight as I was making dinner and cleaning up a bathroom that Chase had just peed in I hear this big CRASH. I come running into the boys bedroom where the boys are screaming and crying and I see Chase's dresser crashed down on the floor. Along with the plant, lamp and piggy bank that sits on top of the dresser. My biggest fear that the dressers would come over on the boys had come true. Thank God, that they didn't get hurt but boy they were scared. They were standing on the other side of the room I just grabbed them and made sure they were okay (which for sure they were). After calming down, Chase told me that he was trying to get underwear, which is in the top drawer. I don't know where Cody was when Chase was on the dresser or how Chase got off of it before it crashed but I sure glad he did.

I have now moved the underwear to another drawer that he can reach. We even have the dresser wall mounts but they are up in the boys closet, doing a lot of good. That is a good project for this weekend.

On the other hand, Cody I think is feeling better enough that I am going to send him back to school. He went to work with me today and he did exceptionally well. He played and was no problem. He even took a 2 hour nap.

Sick Update

Cody went today to the doctor for his temperature that is has had since Thursday. His temperature has been 102.5 at night at the highest. The doctor told me that his ears, throat, lungs all sound/look good and to come back in two days if his temperature is still at 102.0 or higher. The kid that is all active and running is sitting in my lap burning up the better part of the day since Thursday. The doctor told me that it is viral and she can't do anything for it. If it isn't better in two days that they will do blood work.

So now we see if Cody wakes up at 2am this morning with a fever that is 102. or higher or will it finally go down. I hoping for the later.

Makes My Monday

I like it when two boys are sleeping when they are sick - it also Makes My Monday.
