Friday Fun

I haven't played along in a while with Carrie at Candid Carrie for ...

And playing along for the first time at

On Monday, the boys and I went to visit my grandma. We were inside talking and the boys were outside, I thought playing with some tools... but instead they were getting muddy. It was a warmer day here, and not too cold, so I just let them get muddy.

I had feared some type of dirtiness would come out of going to grandma's, so I had extra clothes on hand for them, just forgot the shoes. So I had them take off their shoes and socks, by then they were so muddy, that they socks were thrown away, and I gave the shoes a bath. The boys continued on splashing in the mud.

Cody really liked the mud and splashing and running his fingers through it, making mud pies for everyone. He played in the mud a long time. He finally ended up taking off his pants and running around in just his underwear for about 5 minutes, until he had just about enough mud and I gave him a rinse off int he garage sink. Thank goodness, they didn't get it into their hair!

Chase on the other hand, got muddy but didn't like being wet. Said the mud and water were cold and he wanted to change and get cleaned up. He liked it at first but liked being clean also. They both were so happy that they were able to get dirty and muddy without me being upset about it. Boys will be boys and I figured one morning fun it's not going to hurt them.

Since I am not working right now, I pick the boys up at noon from school. On Thursday, my grandma treated us to lunch at McDonalds.

Of course, that means the the boys can play, after they eat, on the slide. Look how happy they were. They really liked going down the blue slide. It was perfect weather and they had fun.
These picture and happy smiles finish off my week!

Carving of the Pumpkin

We hadn't carved a pumpkin before with Cody and Chase. The Halloween's in the past they have just wouldn't have been interested, but this year we did it.

I, of course, wanted the perfect pumpkin to be the first pumpkin that they carved. When we went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday I found it. It was perfect and very heavy!

Ready to help, after Steve and I cut the top open.
Cody was the first to put his hand in the gooo of the pumpkin...
This was his reaction, after that I don't think he did much more of scooping out the goo.
It took a few minutes before I encouraged Chase to put his hand into the pumpkin and tough the gooo. He didn't like it either but did help me a little more than Cody did...but not much!

After we got the pumpkin insides cleaned. Chase wanted triangle eyes. Cody wanted a circle nose. Chase wanted to have a smiley face and Cody wanted 5 teeth.
Here was the result.

Sitting by the pumpkin after we went outside with it!

It didn't turn out half bad and the boys love there pumpkin!

Cody's A Big Boy & Friday Foto Finish

We might of had a break through!!

Cody finally went poop in the toilet!!

Yes, that is bold and in big letters. I showed him how happy I was for doing such a good deed, and not in his pants! This picture was right after he went poop and got his new toy that he had been wanting for months!

I am hoping that now that he knows that it is not scary that he will do it again and again.

The details (don't read if you don't want the nitty gritty of little boys going potty!)

I thought he might have to go and I think he started to go in his underwear, I sent him to the bathroom, like I have done many times before, but it's like he wanted to sit on the toilet. He started to get up like normal and I grabbed a book and we started talking about the color pants the character in the book was wearing. I could see he relaxed more as we were talking and then he went. He got all excited when it happened and hugged me with a huge smile on his face! The other thing was that Chase wasn't in the bathroom at the time. Chase was checking out a mess that I have on the floor in the office, so there was no pressure of big brother (that is potty trained) hounding him that it was his turn on the potty.

This totally Finishes off my week and especially my Friday! Play along here:

Friday Foto Finish Fiesta

Apparently, my husband and father-in-law now own's a race car. My husband thinks that he is going to drive this race car. Not too far away from our house we have a dirt 1/4 mile race track, and he is going to be a race car driver.

We took ownership of this above race car today. I guess it is a good deal for the price that we paid and can easily sell it for way more than we bought it for, according to my race car driving husband.

So this is what is finishing up our day. Tomorrow night we will go and watch the races to see what we are up against. For not we have a race car. Oh the boys, think this is coolest thing ever and is telling everyone that they know!

Play along with your picture that finishes off your week!

Friday Foto Finish Fiesta

Last night was Orientation Night at school, a night of meeting new teachers, going into new classrooms and meeting new classmates. Before all that happened I wanted to take a few pictures of my pre-preschoolers.

We had arrived early to our orientation by 30 minutes, so we had some time to waste. The boys rolled around on the grass.

And was able to run away from me and my camera.

So after some energy was let out and the running became quiet talking while inside the church and listening for your name to be called to be released to go into your new classroom. Chase and Cody's new teacher, Miss Sarah, was young, hip teacher. She is very outgoing and informative.

Chase and Cody will have 6 other kids in their class, (that might change later as school gets started), 5 girls and 3 boys. 5 of the kids are kids that were in the same class last year.

Chase and Cody and myself is looking forward to a wonderful school year, with many things planned. A lot of learning and growing will be done this year as in the year that has past.

This is what is making my Friday a Foto Finish Friday, what is making your Friday good?

My Favorite picture today is the one I took last night of Cody and Chase having a slumber party. They don't normally sleep in the same bed, but they were all excited to be able to last night. All ready to sleep for the whole night.

A wonderful way to start off our camping trip this weekend!

Today we spent our day at the San Diego World Famous Zoo. This picture was taken in the new Elephant Enclosure. They have these type of structures all around for picture taking opportunities. Some of the animals scared Chase and Cody but they wanted to have their picture taken with the baby elephant!!
Hope everyone has a great Friday!

The button above will take you to Carrie's blog to play along.

We received a shipment from Steve's dad in Oregon of the Cherries that he grows. Around this time of the each year we wait for the best cherries you will ever eat to get mailed to us. They are just so good. So sweet, juicy and delicious! This year really was the first year that Chase and Cody got to eat Cherries. And they had a blast! The red cherry juice ended up everywhere but so well worth it.

Today Agenda

Chase and Cody are having 3 year old pictures taken, I am hoping for a good outcome!

They are also going to go to the river with Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend. This will only be the second time I have left them for two nights in a row. I am already dreading it, but have some stuff to keep me busy this weekend.

This is picture is not what I want my professional pictures to turn out like today, even though this is a favorite picture for today's Friday foto finish fiesta. We were waiting to go to the rodeo a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to get them pictures with their hats on and all dressed up. But could never get a smile out of both of them at the same time. Still at least they are looking at me and standing still - a rare thing these days!
