Makes My Monday

This last weekend Made my Monday!!

My weekend really started on Friday when I took the boys to school for their Halloween parade. They trick or treated with their class and paraded around with them also.

They really liked hanging out with their friends but didn't want me to leave them there and Cody stayed right by my side so I wouldn't forget him when we were going home.

Friday night, Chase and Cody stayed with Grandma and Grandpa so we could go out to a concert with ground of friends. We saw Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson at Viejas Casino.

Jamey Johnson
You can watch the video here of his current song. If you like older type country music, this is a great concert. They played a total of 3 1/2 hours. It was a great show. Jamey has a awesome voice. Randy Houser has a sound like Waylon Jennings. We had a great time didn't get home until 3am. Yes, 3am!! We were so tired! We hadn't been out that late in a long time.
Saturday morning we had family pictures taken with Steve's brother's family. I can't wait to preview them and to show you them. We have had this photographer for the last 2 years. She took 600 pictures of us in 1 1/2hour. But we were so tired from being up until 3am, we made it through it and smiling the whole time!
Of course, trick or treating was the highlight of Chase and Cody's weekend!! We partied over at Mike and Leslie's house before the trick or treating began. Had a great time talking and hanging out. It didn't seem like many people was out this year as in years pass. So don't know what was up with that. But still had a great time!
Us out trick or treating!! Chase is a race car driver and Cody a Superman. I didn't bring a stroller with us because I thought that they could walk the block that we went around. I carried both of them at the same time throughout a quarter of the block. The other half of the block one was carried by someone else or rode in the only wagon that we brought for 10 kids. I guess next year we will have 10 wagons and no one will want to ride in them. We live and learn. We still had a great time. Of course they got more candy then they will ever be allowed to eat.
I hope everyone else had just as good of a weekend as we did.

Carving of the Pumpkin

We hadn't carved a pumpkin before with Cody and Chase. The Halloween's in the past they have just wouldn't have been interested, but this year we did it.

I, of course, wanted the perfect pumpkin to be the first pumpkin that they carved. When we went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday I found it. It was perfect and very heavy!

Ready to help, after Steve and I cut the top open.
Cody was the first to put his hand in the gooo of the pumpkin...
This was his reaction, after that I don't think he did much more of scooping out the goo.
It took a few minutes before I encouraged Chase to put his hand into the pumpkin and tough the gooo. He didn't like it either but did help me a little more than Cody did...but not much!

After we got the pumpkin insides cleaned. Chase wanted triangle eyes. Cody wanted a circle nose. Chase wanted to have a smiley face and Cody wanted 5 teeth.
Here was the result.

Sitting by the pumpkin after we went outside with it!

It didn't turn out half bad and the boys love there pumpkin!

Two for Tuesday

This picture was taken on Saturday at the pumpkin patch.

A trip to the pumpkin patch for my boys also include Ice Cream!

They both did very well with the ice cream cones. Normally they are melting faster then they can get it ate, but even though the temperature was 100 degrees the ice cream stayed where it was suppose to for them to eat it all! I did help a little! But they were so happy to get to the cone part! Cody had strawberry ice cream and Chase had vanilla ice cream.

Show us your two some pictures at:

Makes My Monday

The highlight of our weekend was spending time with friends and going to the pumpkin patch at Bates Nut Farm. We went with 3 other families and had a great time.

Ate good food and had ice cream!

The group of us. The place was huge and a lot to do and see. They had animals to see and pet. Chase's favorite animal that day was the miniature horses. The trip to the pumpkin patch wouldn't be complete if we didn't ride on the hay ride!

The kids all went on the giant slide and non of them wanted to come off. They loved that!

Of course, the hunt for the greatest pumpkin was on also. Chase liked this one. We didn't buy here at this pumpkin patch. We have 3 other trips planned and not in need of a whole herd of pumpkins!
Cody's greatest pumpkin that he thought we should get!

Good shot of Steve, Chase and Cody waiting for the food and ice cream.
Afterwards we went to Jeff and Shani's house and the kids all played and we had a pizza party! We differently had a great time. Really like spending time with friends!
It made our weekend and that Makes My Monday!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

On Thursday, Chase and Cody's classroom went to the local pumpkin patch. Oh what fun!! It was a great place to play. They had a huge sand pile that the boys thought was perfect place to play in all morning. I did get them off of the pile to play a little bit on the tractor and we did go through the hay bail maze. The tractor ride was very fun we saw a lot of cows and then a very new baby calf.
The boys and I on the tractor ride.
Very cute. They also had a petting zoo with sheep, goats and another calf.
Chase also played baby bottle bowling with big baby bottle. He thought that was fun.
After everything we picked out two pumpkins and went back to school - so I could go too work!

With the pumpkins that we got at the patch Chase and Cody made Mr Potato Heads out of them by sticking the things into the pumpkin. The pumpkins turned out great and Chase and Cody had a great time poking them with eyes, ears, and mouths. As you can see one is a clown and the other is a pirate.

Neighborhood Halloween Fun

In our last neighborhood we received a "Boo Bag". Someone secretly put on your doorstep a bag full of goodies with a poem and a BOO sign. You were to enjoy the bag of goodies which include candy, haloween candles, flashlights, carving tools, pumpkins, anything halloween. You tape your BOO sign to your front door, so your neighbors know not to Boo you again. Then you make two of your own bags with in 24 hours and secretly put them on two of your neighboors door step. It was a lot of fun to do this.

When we moved out of that neighboorhood 3 years ago I was bummed that I couldn't participate in this anymore. Now i do it to my neighbors. I started it last night with 4 bags placed around my neighboorhood. It is very scary in the dark walking up to someones door quitely trying not to get caught. So now I look forward to this starting in my neighborhood. I look on the doors to see the signs and where they will pop up next. It just makes the holiday that much fun.

Does anyone else do something like this in their neighboorhoods?
