Baby Picture Sunday

I Love looking through the photo's and finding the perfect picture for the theme!

This week's theme is ARMY CRAWL. Neither one was really a army crawler, that I can remember, not for any length of time, but I found this cute picture of Chase and he was in the position of a army crawl and I am sure that he was scooting a little bit on that blanket!

I really don't think that we have seen this much rain here before! Everything is so green, greener (is that a word?) then I have seen it in a long time.

Chase and Cody from Pop's party this weekend. We were outside wearing off some energy before the sun went down. I just wish that they both would look at the camera at the same time. Cody was saying "Cheese" but then looking away! Oh well, still a sweet picture that proves that Chase really loves Cody!

Makes My Monday

What a great weekend we had celebrating Pop's 80th birthday! We had a great party for Pop on Saturday with 55 of his closest friends and family.

The party had a western theme to it. The centerpiece's for the tables were upside down cowboy hats with different potted flowers in them with pictures of Pop on sticks. It turned out to be the perfect touch of color we needed in the room.

The food we had worked on for a couple of days turned out wonderfully! These were just the appetizers. The party was catered BBQ style with Ham, BBQ Beef, Homemade Potato Salad and Macaroni Salad, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, and bread.

Of course, the party is not complete until you get to eat the birthday cake! Here is Tatum eating her piece of birthday cake.
We also went to another birthday party on Sunday for Braden who turned 3!

Chase and Cody had a great time playing with the other kids and Bronsen and Braden toys! We had Spaghetti for dinner and it was delicious!

Getting to know ... Diesel

What is there to say about our beloved dog, Diesel. Diesel is a Tri-colored Corgi.
He was a Christmas gift from Steve to me in 2003. Diesel was born in Oklahoma and somehow brought out here with his family to be sold. I think the family had family in town and came to visit them and it was the right time to sell the puppies also. Whatever, it worked out good for us!

As a puppy, he was all ears. His ears were huge, I guess they kind of still are, but it goes more with his overall hugeness. He is about 20 pounds overweight. He doesn't get anything but dog food and only about a cup of food a day. We have tried putting him on different diets, like the green bean diet, but nothing works. We even tried a prescription dog food and it did nothing either. I think he needs more exercise but don't we all?

He is my biggest baby between everyone. He likes to stick with a schedule, likes to know what everyone is doing, even thought that means the boys are climbing on him. I was worried int he beginning how Diesel would feel about the boys coming into his life. But overall he has done very well and has adjusted.

He likes to sleep a lot. He has a bed in our room that he sleeps on at night (sometimes), and another in the backyard, that is his favorite spot. But he will also sleep anywhere else also. He loves to chew up all the boys toys, from balls, to shovel handles, the dog likes to chew. He never grew out of chewing. If I give him something, like a big bone for chewing, he won't chew it because he sits and guards it and growls if anyone comes near it. So I don't do that anymore.

Diesel is a great family dog, even though he likes to stay home, he doesn't like the motorhome or the desert. He chases in quads, rhinos and barks. Very weird since he grew up like that. He also doesn't like loud bangs, or fireworks, gets all weird. Cody loves Diesel more than Chase does. Cody loves to walk him, tie him up, put him in forts and give him hugs. He is all good with it for a while and then he looks for me to come and rescue him.

We can't imagine not having Diesel around this family. He is a great dog for us!

Writer's Workshop

Today in the Writer's Workshop, one the the prompts is:
3.) Open your picture folders…find a random “February” picture from a past year and tell a story.
I knew that I could do this because every picture has a story to go with it!
I found these jeeping picture stuck way back on a faub thingy and they were taken February, 2005. This is our yellow jeep, it used to be black, but sometime before this we painted it yellow, my husband's favorite color. When we go to the desert this is the kind of trails we try (we call then goat trails) and con cour with our jeep. Before the boys were born, I rode in there with him and absolutely loved it! In these pictures, if the tires had gone down into the hole that the jeep is straddling it would have "tipped over". It happens a lot in jeeping, but it didn't this time and we made it out from another goat trail!

Way Back When-sday

In honor of the hair cuts that they received yesterday, I found Chase's first hair cut pictures and knew that they would work perfect for Way Back When-sday.

I remember that Cody didn't get his 1st hair cut until a few months after Chase's 1st one. Chase sat perfectly still and played.

Two for Twos-day

We had an awesome weekend, taking the 3-day weekend to go to the desert. Meet up with some friends, do some jeeping and rhino putting around, and the boys were riding their quads!

This weekend I didn't get a bunch of pictures of the boys together just a bunch of individual ones, but I did snap this one as they were getting ready for a put around in the rhino on Sunday.

They are learning how to put the seat belts together, so Chase was concentrating on that.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Muffin Tin Monday, Magic Marker Monday

Playing along with two Monday Memes today. I really have fun with both of these!
Muffin Tin Monday is where you create a meal with the theme of the week posted by Michelle
This weeks theme was the color RED. There are a lot of food that is red and had fun making it and the boys had fun eating it!
Top row: Spiral pasta with red sauce, Red Jello, 7 Red M&M's,
Bottom row: RED spelled out made out of red butter and bread.
This was a fun theme and can't wait to do next weeks theme! Play along also if you want to, pop on over to Michelle's blog!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The other Meme for Monday that I like is Magic Marker Monday! Love showing off cute artwork that the boys have made. This is a way so I don't have to keep it all, I just have digital records of it!
A few Valentine crafts that they made at school!
A heart with a pocket for trading Valentine's at school! They stamped it in paint with cookie cutter and then put some glitter on it also!
These are their Valentine cards to me asking "Will you Bee my Valentine?" A foot print covers the cover of the card. On the inside they colored a special picture for me in scribbles!

Cody and a Guitar

I think I have mentioned before that Cody and Chase got guitars from Santa. Well, these guitars have lost it's strings in first few hours of playing with them. They loved them so much...especially Cody. I have teased that we will need to get Cody some guitar lessons in the future...

He will get up on stage and sing for us with his guitar. Here he is singing with a country song.

Getting to know ... Cody

Just to update my records and so I can remember stuff!

Cody - 3 1/2 years old
Nickname(s): Codman, Coder, and Snoopy

Cody is a little more harder for me to put into words. Cody has a heart of warmth and lots of love. He absolutely loves his brother, but also try's to upset him whenever possible. He doesn't get in trouble that much, he learns from his brothers mistakes. He doesn't cry unless there is something wrong and then you know there is something wrong. Cody is more go with the flow and I will find something fun to do.
Cody doesn't care what he wears, sweats to jeans, if it matches or if it's backwards, it's even better. Almost every time he gets dressed by himself, it's on backwards. I call him my backwards child (not too his face), I know it's only a phase. He loves wearing flip flops as his favorite shoes, but again they are always on the wrong feet! He wears 4T in pants and 4T in shirts. Probably wearing a 5T by the summertime in shirts and a 11 shoe. Cody is a good 1/2 head taller than Chase. Cody could care less if his hair is combed, but he loves bath time and especially bubble baths. Bubble baths break him out though because of his Atopic Dermatitis so we don't have them very often.

I can't get Cody to get into arts or crafts. He will do a little bit of the craft and then he just can't sit still. He likes to write on the write board books that he got for Christmas and draw on those, but to color or paint is just to time consuming for him. He would rather be outside riding his scooter or his bike. He is very good on his two- wheel scooter and can go a long time without putting his foot down. He still has training wheels on his two wheeler bike, something we need to work on because I think he is ready to let them go. Cody will do about 5 minutes of a board game and then get up and run around. He gets frustrated easily waiting again for his turn. He loves Mickey Mouse right now with Pluto being his favorite character. He also pretends to be a dog, names Snoopy and will act more like Pluto. He uses his paws to eat with and he crawls on four paws instead of walking. He also barks when he is in Snoopy mode. He is very lovable when he is in Snoopy mode. Instead of kisses he will lick. I play along, as does Chase, because I know that pretend play is good. He loves dogs, loves to pet them, hug them and play with them.

Cody is a good eater, with Steak and Corn probably being his favorite meal. He also likes taco's. He is completely addicted to milk (don't tell me how bad it is, I know). He loves milk and drinks a lot of it, like 1 1/2 gallon in 7 days. He likes Gatorade and Chocolate milk with dinner. He also drinks water, will only take a few sips of a soda and not want anymore. His favorite snack foods are popcorn and jalapeno chips (hot chips). Cody has one ducky blue and yellow blankie that he carries around in the house and we take it in the car, but it doesn't go beyond that. Needs blankie to get through the day. Cody likes to go to bed a little later than Chase around 8:30pm and then sleeps in until 7:30am. He will sometimes come into my bed during the night lately. (A habit that we need to break!).

I differently want to remember this age with Cody. He is so much fun to be around and such a helper and a wonderful son!

Writer's Workshop

Playing along again this week at Mama Kat's Writers Workshop...You can find the writers prompts here.
I think I will write about #4: A List of Does and Don't...
Do...
loose weight and start to exercises
always smile
raise my sons to respect people
take a lot of pictures because people aren't around forever and pictures are
always tell them I love you and kiss them goodnight
Don't...
forget to pack the motorhome
let the boys get away with not cleaning up after themselves
compare yourself to other people
let the boys come into bed tonight, because they keep taking up the whole bed
The Don't were harder than I had expected!

Say What Wednesday

Playing along with Missy today at Two Little Monkeys with Say What?! Wednesday. Click the button above!

(This is where you know, where you share the funny, sweet & silly things your little ones have said lately)

So I think I might have remembered a few things that the boys have said this week. There has been some fun stuff going on!

Me: Cody lets go and get dressed.
Cody: Why?
Me: Because it's a school day
Cody: Oh Chicken Feathers
(It cracks me up every time he says it)

Cody: When is it going to snow out?
Me: Well, it doesn't really snow where we live.
Cody: Why?
Me: Well, because I just doesn't
Cody: Well, I still wish it was Christmas time so, we could still get some snow.

Okay, I know there are more when I started typing this post, but since I have been interrupted so many times now, I can't remember what they are. I will post this and then update it as I remember the crazy things the boys are saying these days.

I will also start to keep paper handy so I can write then down!

Two for Twos-day

We love forts around here. Lately we have been making one once a week or so. Lots of blankets and pillows and then we play house and trucks inside of them. We even try to get Diesel to play along inside our forts, most of the time he just looks at us.
So yesterday it got to be a okay day to be outside. It all started when Chase and Cody wanted to bring their Spiderman and Mickey Mouse blankets outside so they can lay down on the platform of the slide. Okay, but nothing else I tell them. They wanted to take off their shoes so they wouldn't get mud on their beloved blankets. Okay, but don't get down without shoes on. I am then bringing them out more blankets because they wanted to have a roof over them and also more blankets for a picnic lunch. So they had their lunch sitting under the blankets and playing with toys. They had a great time and it lasted all afternoon. Them playing up there for a little while and then getting down, mostly with their shoes on, and then going back up.

Makes My Monday

This weekend was a rainy, wet, cold weekend. A weekend for staying indoors and doing crafts and projects. I had found a cute Valentine Craft at No Time for Flash Cards Blog and thought this weekend would be a good weekend to do it!
The complete instructions can be found here for the Valentine Day Craft. It was a bunch of fun to do for the boys!
We painted and got red paint everywhere. I should learn that the boys need to wear smocks or something like that so they don't ruin good shirts. Maybe if I soak them long enough the paint will come out...I can hope right?
I actually realized that I didn't get completed pictures of the project. They had fun and thought they were Frisbees and throwing them through the house. Which was fine until one lost some of the rice and beans that we put inside. Still it kept them busy for a while.
My project this weekend was sewing a pair of shorts for the boys. They ended up being way to big for them and I need to find a pattern that fits them. But it was fun and I want to find something that I can sew all the time. I am starting to get bored with being at home so much and need projects to keep me busy with my down time.
I also made some chocolate candy from a Candy Kit that I had bought for Valentines Day. It turned out very good and very cute also. I am giving them away int he goodie bags for the boys classmates for their party on Wednesday for Valentine's Day.
Hope you had a great weekend also! Playing along with Cheryl at:
