Makes My Monday - Mommy & Me

I bought these garden's in a box at Home Depot a few weeks ago thinking that the boys would have a bunch of fun watching their plants grow into food. They are doing this at school also with some herbs.
We had some time on Saturday morning and I brought this out to do with them. They had so much fun.
We put water in the pots to let the dirt get soft.

Then we put the green bean seeds and watermelon seeds into the correct pots. They then covered the seeds with the dirt. We watered them again and put them into the sunlight for the green house to work.

I sure hope we get green beans and watermelon out of them.

Spending time with the boys makes my Monday!!

Makes My Monday / Mommy and Me

We had one busy weekend. We started Saturday morning, with a carnival at boys school/church. It was a fundraiser/open house for the church.
What fun we had. Chase and Cody's best friend, Jacob, was there also. They jumped in the bouce house for a long time and boy did they have fun. I captured a few cute picture also...
Cody
Chase
They also had a lot of fun games, including miniture golf, fishing, duck races with plastic ducks, ring toss, bean bag toss and a few more. The boys were really enjoying themselves. The music was a little loud...but it was a fun time.
They won a bunch of prizes, ate cotton candy (something I don't ever let them do),and have a sucker within an hour of each other!!
After we left the carnival we went to get some lunch and head over the the Jr. Fair auction in Lakeside. We have visited every year and every year it is great. The kids put on a wonderful show and auction. Cousin Tatum was at the fair also and the boys were so excited!
We alwyas buy at least a steer for butchering and sometimes a pig. This year we thought we would do something different and buy a smaller steer and raise it for about 10 months and then butcher it. So we actually ended up with two steers...this one above renamed Goose. And the one below named Maverick. Goose will be with us only a short time about 2 months we are estimating...Maverick more like 10 months to a year.

Chase and Cody are already feeding it and wanting to take care of it. We are not allowed to have live stock animals at our house, so we are keeping it at a good friends house and she is helping take care of it for us also.
After all this excitement we had Peyton's birthday party to go to in the late afternoon. We stayed at the Green's house until 8pm.
Like I said, we were very busy all of this in just one day...but it all totally Makes My Monday. I love having a lot of things to do!
============================================
I didn't do a very good job this weekend at taking pictures of the boys and I ... (I am very upset with myself that I didn't)...
But I had this one for a couple of weekes ago...

Makes My Monday - Mommy & Me

What a great weekend we had!
We rode in the Lakeside Western Days Parade with the boys schoolon Saturday.

We had about an hour wait for our turn which we had to stay on our float and everyone did very well. But the weather was perfect sunny and warm but not too warm.

Bronsen and Braden (cousins) was also on float with us, so that was very fun and it was nice to be able to hang out with them!

I really wish that they would of let me tuck in their shirts this picture would have looked much better. But just to try to get them both looking at me it took a miracle so this is what I get!

Grandma, Grammy and Pop waiting for us on the parade route.
Play along with what makes your Monday here:
I grab Chase on the float and pointed the camera and this is what I got for my Mommy and Me picture.

Makes My Monday

What a last few days that we have had around here. Noticed I haven't been on at all?

Well, when I have a huge tractor pushing many ton's of dirt to make my backyard flat, I need to keep a extra close eye on two 3 year old that insist that playing by the tractor is a good idea.

So we had the tractor delivered on Wednesday night and the next 3 days that tractor would be pushing dirt around. It's pretty cool to watch the operator work with the dirt and knock down the huge mountain we had in our backyard.

I will take more pictures today. These pictures were from Thursday when he was just beginning. It is almost completely flat now. Oh the fun just now begins, we have so many options we could do from pools to landscape to green grass to more concrete.

We just have to decide now what to do and how much money we are going to spend on it!

I better go and get all my stuff done before the tractor starts up again today and I have to keep a watchful eye on the boys. They are loving the tractor and the fresh dirt and mud that has come with our new backyard. More pictures and stories to come.

Makes My Monday

At the beginning of the weekend, we really didn't have anything going on, but it seemed like we stayed busy and had fun all weekend.

Saturday morning to watch the local baseball fields to watch the t-ball game going on. We know 4 of the players ranging in ages of 4 and 6. Oh how fun it is to watch 4 year old play! Chase and Cody both would like to play when they become old enough.

Saturday night, we were invited to our friend, The Greens, house for a BBQ. Their were 5 couples their with the kids. Everyone got along so good and had a great time with some delicious food to eat!

Sunday, we went to visit the race car at the repair shop. Yes, it went from a race car to a bunch of metal tubes but it's suppose to be ready in about 4-5 weeks. We will only miss 2 races. The boys still had fun playing with stuff at the repair shop and feeding the horses!

We had a wonderful weekend with absolutely beautiful weather and the memories of family time Makes My Monday!

Makes My Monday

We had a busy weekend but oh what fun!

On Friday we went to the Zoo with Grammy and Pop. We only had about 3 hours to be able to walk around, because I had to get home for my garbage disposal to be replaced, but that was just enough time to stretch our legs and see a few animals. We went to the zoo thinking that the new enclosure for the polar bears were open but it doesn't open until the end of March, so we saw the elephants and a Jaguar, and some lions.

On Saturday morning, we headed out to my grandma's for some cleaning up and removal of some of Papa's old stuff. My Uncle, cousin Daniel and his kids, Bronsen and Braden, were out there also. Steve brought out a trailer because he wanted to have some old engines of my grandfathers for the race car. So we got that cleaned up. While everyone was working very hard, so were the 4 boys.
They each had a shovel, rake, or hoe and had to do so much work. Believe me they were just having fun playing in some great dirt! And so the work and play time continued through out the morning.
Good picture of Cody, Chase, and Bronsen. Uncle Steve was "getting" them with the end of the tape measure. Braden was the smart one he was running for being "got". It was funny!
They also found a big pile of dirt to slid up and down on. That was the best!

All of them sitting down having a snack of a cookie!

After all that fun, we went to my in-laws - for them to watch Chase and Cody while I went to a baby shower. The boys were having so much fun with Tatum that when I came to pick them up, they said "No, we want to stay here with Tatum. Bye Mom! Kind of broke my heart but, I let them stay with Grandma and Grandpa and Tatum. I guess they were really good and had a great time!

Sunday, I went to pick back up the boys and we came home to play in the sunshine! It was a beautiful day yesterday. I hope your weekend was everything you wanted!

Makes My Monday

This weekend turned out quite fun! We went to the desert to the 48th Annual Terra Del Sol Jeep Run in Truckhaven by Salton City. The weather called for 70% rain on Saturday, so I wasn't so excited about going but we are troopers and we went along with 7 other families.

We woke up Saturday morning to very pretty blue skies and nice weather.

At this jeep run, there are over 1200 jeeps register to go onto a designated path following arrows. Green arrows to stay where it's easy driving and just hanging out kind of fun. There are other colored arrows that lead to more difficult jeeping that Steve and the jeeps went on. The rhino people, including myself, stayed on the green arrows. While going on the more difficult stuff, Kevin broke his power steering pump on his jeep. The breaking of jeeps is a very common problem when you do the kind of jeeping they do with the jeeps. So it took them 2 1/2 hours to fix this. We waited for the jeeps for about 2 hours and were watching the black clouds roll in and decided we wanted to get back to the motorhomes before the rain started. The jeeps came rolling into camp about an hour later, Kevin still broke. It was very cold with a lot of wind that night.

We woke up to it raining in the desert. The ground starting getting saturated with wet sand and we were afraid to wait much longer to get the motorhome out so we wouldn't get stuck in the mud. It was coming down in a good sprinkle.

These are the skies that tell you that it is raining. As Steve started moving the motorhome, we had to go over a little bump and the back wheels started turning and spinning, yes we were stuck. We needed a tow out of this soft sand. Here they are hooking the motorhome up to this Bronco.

The bronco got us out unstuck...Thank you!! The kids actually loved being outside in the rain and spent about 30 minutes watching underneath the cover of the rhino trying to stay dry.

We still had a good weekend and just being with family and friends was fun!

Play along today here...

Makes My Monday

Today what Makes My Monday is being able to take Chase and Cody to their first circus! We went Saturday afternoon while it was pouring down rain and unable to much else. We didn't get very wet either from the rain.
They were very excited, but you can't tell from this picture! This is before the performance begins and they were (kind of) waiting patiently.
We actually couldn't take any pictures while the performance was going on, but the acrobatics people on the ropes were the best that kept the boys attention span. They also liked the trampoline guys and the tricks that they were doing on the trampoline.

Then this guy and this 2000 pound wheel thing came out and they were like what is that Mom? I said lets wait and see...Well, we were able to take pictures through this, but they are not very good because of the fog machine stuff in the air.
The guy is inside if the wheel here but he also got on the outside of the wheel and walked blindfolded. It made me nervous!
He's the little speck on top of the wheel. The wheel just kept going around and around with him walking on it and the whole thing would turn. They liked that also.

So right before the next to the last act Cody says "Mom, let's go." Well this is 1 hour 45 minutes into it and I thought it would almost be over, so I said one more and then we can. The next act was the motorcycles in the cage act. Chase and Cody couldn't take their eyes off of this and came home right away and told dad and grandpa all about it! They really thought that was cool. They rode around in the cage and did tricks!
-----------------------------------------
On Sunday, we attended Peyton's 5th birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. Chase and Cody had never been there before and had a blast!
All the kids sitting down (for 2 minutes) to have (a bite) a piece of pizza!
Cody wanted to wear his hat on his face some of the time and acted like a bird with a beak...all Chase wanted was Root Beer to drink and nothing to eat.
It was a great weekend, despite the rain on Saturday...Sunday was a cold but sunny day!
