I have to say that they whole potty training thing is awful.
I posted a few weeks ago that Chase was actually potty trained at school - they wrote him off as being such and now he doesn't cost as much to send him and also he can go into another classroom this summer. So he is doing very well at school - no accidents. I have to say at home he has a poop accident every weekend and some nights after school. I am getting very tired of this. This mostly happens when he is playing outside and not interested in stopping what he is doing. I go out and remind him occasionally "Do you have to go potty?" "No Mom" is the response that I get. But in 15, 30, minutes later he could be standing there going poop.
I borrowed a book from a friend about potty training and I also downloaded the "How to potty Train your child in 3 days.", which I haven't totally read, but I am desperate to get him to go poop in the potty. It not like he won't go poop in the potty, just if he's too busy he won't. Both of these books start you from the beginning so I don't know if to start over with him doing one of these methods, but I don't know if I can start somewhere in the middle with just pooping. So frustrating. I have been officially potty training him since October, 2008. He will not wear anything but underwear and at night time it's a struggle to get him to wear pull-ups.
I need help but don't know where to begin.
Now I will move onto Cody. Cody is very shy when it comes too peeing, apparently. Too me he shows no signs of being ready to pee in the toilet - or even in the bath tub. School have him in underwear during the morning and I guess does very well - goes into the bathroom, does something (no one has yet to see him pee) but yet he stays dry. So he holds it until the afternoon and he pees. So I also have him in underwear at evening time after we get home and before bed, thinking that he needs to get used to the feeling of peeing. He has accidents all the time (which is fine) but he doesn't care if he is wet or not - he will continue to play and not even notice it.
But we have motivation to get him potty trained so he too can move up to another class, along with Chase and his best friend Jacob.
From the beginning, I told Chase that he could have a piece of candy if he went poop in the toilet, it worked and he was doing good. Knew that I would offer Cody that same reward. But that doesn't work when he doesn't even want to sit on the toilet.
So I started a potty training chart thing with stickers, get a sticker if you go pee or poop and get a toy or party or money or anything that they want after you fill up this chart of like 25 squares, not too hard right? Well, Chase has two stickers on it and Cody none. I tell Cody when he poops in his diaper he could get a big toy and he will Repeat me I get a sticker and toy but just change me and I will go back to playing.
It's not working...
So my friends, can someone give me any advice, hits, tips what should I do differently...
I know this was a very missed up post with no pictures, but thanks for letting me vent a little.
