Getting to know ... Chase

I wanted to document a few things on both of the boys before I forget. I haven't done a complete update for a long time so here it goes.

Chase - 3 1/2 years old
Nickname: Chasers

Right now Chase wants to do everything for himself, but also wants to do everything anyone else is doing. He has to ask Cody what are you going to eat, before Chase can decide what he is going to eat. And then normally eats (or does) what Cody does. Chase has more of an attitude, and that gets him in trouble and in time out a few times a day. He cries on a whim and likes to tattle tale on everyone, but is slowing growing out of this and it's not happening as much these days. He likes things to happen his way and if it doesn't will throw a fit.

Chase favorite color right now is black. He has a few black t-shirts and those are his favorite shirts and really the only shirts that he wears. He doesn't like to wear sweats or any type of comfy pants, always jeans. He prefers flip flops to any other shoes. He is wearing size 3T in pants, 4T in shirts (which are a little big on him) and a 10 shoe. When we style his hair he likes the front of his hair to stick up a little and will make sure that I have it sticking up before he leaves the bathroom.

Chase loves to do artwork and crafts. From painting to coloring he will sit and do it all, as long as someone else is sitting with him. His teacher, Ms. Sarah, tells me that he is the best in his class with scissors and cutting straight lines with them. He will sit and read a book or play with motorcycle toys. He loves playing board games and would play one everyday if there was time. Mickey Mouse is his favorite thing on TV right now. He also likes the new show Chuggington on Disney. If he had to choose between Cars, Spiderman or Mickey Mouse for a themed something for a boy his choice would be Spiderman, but he has never seen this movie or anything about what (or who) Spiderman is.

He eats good with his favorite meal being BBQ Chicken and wild rice. His others favorite foods are vanilla pudding, candy (but he doesn't get much of that), taco's and green beans. He would, if I let him, have a baby root beer everyday. He drinks juice out of a sippy cup, but also likes strawberry milk and Gatorade with dinner. He still has two baby blankies that he carries around and sleeps with. He sleeps in his own bed most of the night going to bed around 8pm and waking up around 6am. He then comes into our bed and wants to "cuddle for a couple of minutes" before we get up. He likes to sit on two pillows while cuddling with dad before bed.

I hope that I will always remember what Chase is like at 3 1/2 years old. He is overall a great son and a thrill to be around!

Camera Fun

After we completed dinner last night, I got out the camera for just in case type pictures. The boys were playing really well together, jumping over paper towels, and playing their guitars, so thought I would have my camera ready for some good pictures.

Which lead to a mommy has the camera out lets hide game. There were a lot of picture taken of my kitchen cabinets which Chase was hiding behind and he would come out and I would *try* to take a picture of him. They were getting a kick out of this little game and t was fun to listen to them laugh so hard.

Here are some of the great smiles and just pictures of our fun!

Chase and his smile.
Chase coming out from hiding around the corner and I got the picture!

Snapped another one of him peaking out from around the corner!
Cody was way more serious about it and wanted to pose for pictures. So here is him just saying cheese and being goofy!

I am not quite sure what he is laughing so hard about but whatever it was was sure was funny. He would tell me "Mom, Chase is right there, take his picture." It was funny!

New Boots

I found at Walmart yesterday, Chase and Cody's first pair of boots. I had been thinking it was about time that they should have a pair of cheap boots. I knew that once they would get them that would probably be the only shoe they wore.

When I opened the boxes of boots, they were so excited! They went and got their socks on and said they had to go to the rodeo.

Chase showing off his boots! He has black boots, because he is very much into black!

Cody and his boots. They make them look so much older! They love them and yes they will probably wear them to bed!

Way Back Wednesday - Injury Alert! - Say What Wednesday!

We about a month away from desert season and we can't wait. Chase and Cody talk about going to the desert all the time! Lots of playing in the dirt and riding bikes!

As I was looking back through the years of pictures, found this one in my desert pictures. The boys got the laundry basket in the motorhome and had too sit in it, like all kids do.
I don't really think that this year that they will be sitting in the laundry basket in the motorhome. I am sure they will be very active and non-stop.

Yesterday, as I was signing the boys out of school, Chase told me that he had bumped his tooth. I look down and not only did he bump his tooth, but chipped it as well. I started asking him questions, "Where did you do it?" "The Castle." (Which is a big plastic play structure on the play ground.) I Asked "Did you cry?" "No." I asked a bunch of other questions, but nothing really came out of it- except a chipped tooth. So I am then asking the teachers for some answers, but no one had any. So now he has a second chipped tooth. Here is his picture from last night.

The right tooth had already been chipped from a fall on our tile about 1 year old or so. The left tooth now has a small point and is chipped on the inside part of the tooth. I will make him a dentist appointment for this week and make sure that the root is okay still.

I have a feeling that the dentist is really going to get to know us. With Cody's dark tooth and now two chipped teeth with Chase. This might be the beginning of a long road of dentist appointments! I am glad that it is only dentist appointments and nothing more serious.

Playing along with Missy with Say What Wednesday!

Cody had just walked into the wall and stubbed his toe. I had given him a kiss and told him he was fine. Chase brought him a piece of ice for his toe, and was applying it to the injured toe. He tells Cody that "Cody, you have to be careful, and watch what you are doing." Yes spoken just like his mom.

I took Cody and Chase to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning. Cody got a little upset going into the back, but was fine by the time he was picking out a toy (30 seconds later). They both did good getting a cleaning with a toothbrush and a quick check with the dentist. Chase chipped tooth has healed according to the dentist and there is no problems. It hasn't affected him at all.
Cody's front tooth that is now getting darker in color (almost dark gray at the top), the dentist says the the root still is not affected and we will watch it for another month and then decide on what to do. I am still against doing a root canal, but don't want it to affect his permanent tooth. So we will wait and see what the tooth does.

Writer's Workshop #5

This week's assignments are up at Mama Kate's. They are some good writing prompts so I couldn't wait to play along. Click the button to be taken to her blog.

Today I am choosing to write about #5: Why is your kid in time out?

This child of mine, Chase, spends a good amount of time in time-out. He throws tantrums that always lands him in the chair or the corner. Really there isn't a designated chair or corner in our house, any will do. One of the many reasons that he ends up in time out is for not sharing. Really bad at this. Once he latches onto something, he will not let it go, so here comes the screaming and the crying and then the time-out. Chase also hits, so another thing that lands him in time-out. If he is not getting his way, the arm starts to swing and will hit anyone in his way. Just a few ways way Chase is in time-out.

Two for Tuesday

Debi is hosting Two- for - Tuesday today:

Chase and his blankie have a special bond. They attached to each other around 14 months of age. Ever since blankie and Chase have been an item. Well over 4th of July weekend, we (meaning I) lost blankie somehow. Somewhere between car and bed it disappeared and yes I tore this house apart looking for blankie. Chase walked around calling out for blankie. Come Monday we borrowed Chase's school blankie (we keep one at school and one at home) and he was happy again, but me I was paranoid we were going to loose the one blankie that we had.

I jumped onto the Internet and on ebay found his blankie for $32.00, wow. Some people told me that they would have said it's time to break that blankie habit - but I spent the money and got the new and fluffier blankie in the mail. This picture was taken right after I handed him his new blankie. It hasn't left his side once since then.

Play along at Debi's blog or click the button above!
Don't even get me started on how close Cody is to his blankie. In just about every picture that is taken from 12 months forward at home has his blankie in it somehow. Even a school picture has his blankie in it. He is even more attached!

Fever

We are staying home today from school and work - Chase has a 100.5 fever. It started about 7pm last night after playing at the park on the way home he said that he was tired, and felt a little warm. About an hour later, he was asleep. I woke him up to give him medicine and put him to bed. He woke up once early this morning thirsty and also I gave him more medicine. He is back sleeping. We will have a day of cuddling on the couch and staying cool.

Chase's Morning

We had a difficult morning this morning.

Upon waking Chase up to go to school - I found this monster in his bed instead. Nothing made this monster happy. Didn't want to go to get dressed (flopping all over the floor and crying). I didn't even mention brushing his teeth because that on a good morning will set him into hysterics (I have pictures on that also I will post sometime.)

He was just upset at everything. I apparently didn't put the right socks on him either. Everything made him upset.

Even on the way to school, he got up set at me when his favorite song hadn't come on the radio yet, like I have power over XM!

But as we pulled up to school, this is what I found when I opened up the door to get him out!

I had found my happy Chase and not the monster I had left at home!

Birthday Party

We celebrated Chase and Cody's 3rd birthday on Sunday with our closest friends and family.

Cody
Chase

The party was held at a local park that runs a steam engine train. All the kids got to ride the train. It was a big hit and everyone wanted to ride it again, but we waited to long and it was closed. Just means we can go back again later this summer when we are looking for things to do.

We ate delicious hot dogs and hamburgers. The weather turned out to be wonderful sunny and bright.

The pinata was a huge success. Cody was able to break it open the first time and then we repaired it, because there was still candy in it. So everyone was able to hit it. We had a lot of laughs at the way the kids were hitting it. after it broke everyone to get the candy.

Of course we had cake and cupcakes that the boys and I made. It turned out pretty good. The boys decorated the cupcakes all by themselves.

It seemed like everyone had a great time.
