Looking back through the years and years of pictures finding that perfect picture that captures my heart this morning. I love going back and finding younger pictures of the boys.

This morning I found pictures from when they were just over 2 years old playing outside in perfect weather.

Way Back When-sday

This weekend we will be going to the annual Destruction Derby.

What do don't know what a Destruction Derby is? It's a Crush-up car race. You take a old car and put mud in an arena and let the car go at it slamming into each other, who ever is the last car moving is the winner. We do this through his work. It is a industry event that is state wide.

These cars do not look like this after the race is over. They are pretty smashed up and not even drivable!

Way Back When-sday

Coming up this weekend is the Lakeside Western Days Parade and Rodeo. It's the weekend that Lakeside lives for!

Last year and again this year we ride in the parade with the boys school.

We had fun last year and I am sure that we will enjoy it again this year!

Way Back When-sday / Say What Wednesday

I am still posting Easter pictures from years before because this year Easter snuck up on me and went away so quickly that I didn't get to post Way back pictures.

When the boys were 10 months I did a photo shoot with them and plastic eggs, bunny ears and Easter baskets. These were some of the pictures from that photo shoot.

It seems like when the boys say something funny or bizarre I don't remember it long enough to write it down and play along with Missy and others, but I have been trying to remember little sayings or conversations that Chase and Cody say...

The other morning in the car going to school:

Cody: Chase put on your sunglasses, here comes the sun.

Chase: No, I don't want my sunglasses, I like the sun and I don't want it to go away.

Chase: I am tired of the rain (in a whisper)

(I don't blame him)

In the car, Cody telling me what the racecar will sound like:

Cody: Mom, I think the racecar will sound like a Bang, bang, Squeak, Squeak.

Me: Really? I sure hope we don't have any squeak squeaks in it.

Cody: It going to...

I love listening to Chase and Cody have a conversation between the two of them:

Chase: What do you think the farmer is doing right now?

(I am not sure where this came from, but okay)

Cody: He is feeding the big horses right now. Pretty soon he will feed the little horses.

(Cody then turns into a horse making horse noises)

Chase: Hey horse, when is the farmer going to feed the pig?

Cody: I am the farmer now, I will go and feed the pig now.

Chase: Okay, don't forget to feed the ducks also.

There are so many more conversations like the one above that I just don't remember the whole thing, but I am always like what? where did this come from, or what are they doing?

Looking back through the pictures of Easter last year and came across this cute picture of the boys coloring eggs.

A picture of both of them smiling - I can't believe that! We were just going to start to dye Easter Eggs. They both have grown up so much in a year!

This picture was taken exactly one year ago of Chase. He looks so young...He still had the baby face.

I know he didn't have the attitude that he does now also! Oh too remember those sweet and fun days!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Honey!

Steve is turning 34 years old today!

This picture was taken last year on his birthday. I had a small dinner party with just family. This year he is going out to dinner with his mom and dad, and the guy who building the race car. They need to talk about race car stuff! I will be going to a school parent meetings to talk about Kindergarten (which isn't for another 1 1/2 years, but I want to get the scoop now.)

We will be having a little dinner and cake for him in a couple of nights. The boys want to sing him Happy Birthday!

Way Back When-sday / Say What Wednesday

We had so much fun with that pool of balls when the boys were about 10 months old. They would play in it for hours. Then we would throw the balls and the balls would be all over the house.

Lately, it's been like pulling teeth to get the boys to clean up their toy messes. But this conversation didn't go the way I wanted it to...

Me: If you don't start picking up your toys now, the ones I pick up I am going to throw away.

Cody: Okay, mom, after I get done playing with this.

Me: No, I mean now. Okay I am going to throw this and this away, because you are not helping pick up toys.

Chase: Can you just throw them all away, then there wouldn't be any toys for me to pick up.

Chase then proceeds to start throwing away toys...

Looking through my pictures and I found this picture for Way Back Wednesday.




This was taken at Sea World in the stables of the Budweiser's Clydesdale's. The boys loved petting this horse. I liked that I was able to have a picture taken with my boys, something that I don't do enough!

This is where I think of the funny things that the boys are saying these days and write them down here. So I can share them with you.

The weatherman is on the TV

Cody: I think it going to snow tomorrow, that what he is saying.

Me: Oh really!

Cody: So we can go ice skating tomorrow and not go to school.

Chase: We need to hurry so we can catch up to dad.

(Dad has already left the driveway and is down the block when he says this.)

Me: Well, get into your seat and we will...

Chase: I am trying to hurry, but we forgot the rope for dad.

Me: We really don't need a rope do we?

Chase: Yes, how else will we catch him?

Chase brings me his "rope" it's a shoelace.

Chase: Let's go catch dad!

I found this cute picture of Pop and Cody blowing bubbles together on Pop and Grammy's back porch.

Cody: 2 years old.
Pop: 78 years young.

In honor of the hair cuts that they received yesterday, I found Chase's first hair cut pictures and knew that they would work perfect for Way Back When-sday.

I remember that Cody didn't get his 1st hair cut until a few months after Chase's 1st one. Chase sat perfectly still and played.

Way Back When-sday

This is Cody taking a bath.

The reason behind this picture this week is that Cody's favorite song right now is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse "Pluto's Bubble Bath" Song. Which goes something like this:

"When your in a bubble and you are floating along
singing dibble dabble dibble and floating along!"

This is while Mickey Mouse and Pluto is in a bubble in the air floating along.

He loves this song and also wants a bubble bath. We haven't done a bubble bath in a long time and he has requested me to get at the store some bubble bath so he can take a bubble bath like Pluto!

Way Back When-sday

As I was going through pictures, came acrss these pictures of the boys while we were on vacation in Montana.

We were gone for a total, I think, of 10 or 12 days. We traveled in our motorhome and the boys did so well on the long trip. We traveled with 5 other families in thier motorhomes. I can't wait to do it again.

This picture was taken while the boys sat in their portable high chairs next to a running creek. It was absolutely beautiful!

Going back in my memory with this great picture of Chase and Cody when they were


6 months old. This was the picture on our Christmas cards the year of 2006. I took these pictures of the boys and actaully it turned out cute! I had a big enough box that I had set them inside and put other gift wrapped boxes around them. It was fun!

Way Back Wednesday

Today's picture takes us back about almost 2 years to January, 2008.


Chase and Cody for Christmas received thier "Rhino". They love this thing, still to this day. They play with it outside all the time.
We are at the desert when this picture was taken. It was also the year that pink eye went through our family while we were at the desert. Chase got it first as you can see in this picture his eye is still a little swollen.
