Cody the Trick Rider

We play in the backyard at night after it cools down. Cody loves to ride his bike down the small hill in the backyard. He is always trying to go down the hill in different ways. Look at the video and you will see what I mean. I am sure he will become some type of racer or trick rider!

Chase's 1st Conversation

Chase and I had a real conversation on Tuesday night and this is how it went. I thought it was very cute that he has so many words now that he can have a conversation.

Preface: We had to park up the street on Tuesday and walk to the house because they had just resealed the street and we couldn't drive on it. On the way to the house, Chase fell down and skinned his knee. Nothing big just a minor scrap, he was still able to make it home.

Later that night sitting in his room this is what we talked about his injury.

Chase: An Owee (pointing to the scrap)
Me: Yes, you fell down
Chase: An Owee, walking, street
Me: You fell down in the street and hurt your knee? Are you going to be okay?
Chase: Yeah
Me: Do you need me too kiss your Owee?
Chase Yeah, fell down walking, street
Me: (Lean over and kiss Owee) Is that better?
Chase: No hurt Owee walking
Me: Do you need medicine on your knee?
Chase: Yeah medicine better knee.

I later put some ointment on it. And he is going to survive. But I thought that was a great 1st conversation.

Also on Wednesday night, Steve called on his way home and I let Chase "talk" to daddy. He actually said hello and good into the phone. That was the first time that he just didn't look at the phone and want to push buttons. Cody still just wants to push buttons!!

Cody is also doing very well with his words. Everyday he will say something else. When Cody has his first conversation I will post that also. I am hoping that it is soon.

Oh and also a sleeping update. Cody for the past 4 nights has woke up. He is very fussy and just not happy sleeping in his room. He wants to cuddle and be held. He has ended up in our bed for those 3 of those nights. About a 1 hour later he is ready to go back to his bed. I am hoping that this is a phase that will pass. Chase has slept all of these nights. He has made some noise but he is able to put himself right back to sleep. He is awake though between 5:30am and 6:00am ready for his day to begin!!

Weekend Update

I thought I would do an outline of what we did this weekend. On Friday, the boys and I went shopping. Chase and Cody made out they each got new shoe's and new Padre hat's. They were their Padre hat's all weekend. Later we had dinner with the family at La Posta. Chase, Cody and Tatum had fun playing with each other.

Saturday we had a birthday party to go to. Grace and Spencer turned 2, they are our neighbor's twins. They had a great party with kiddie pools and a jumpy. We rode bikes, eat and had really good cake. We watched as Grace and Spencer opened gifts and sang happy birthday to them also.

Tatum's 1st birthday party was on Sunday. Her birthday was at a park with a lot of things to do. Chase stayed in the swing for about 30 minutes just being pushed and watching his balloon follow him. He loved that. Cody and Tyler played on the playground equipment. They went down a lot of slides. Chase and Cody helped break the pinata that they had there for Robert's 6yo birthday. Cody did really good with the bat and hit it hard. They ran after the candy when it landed on the ground. Chase and grandma Nancy ate a lot of candy together. Chase at one time had a Butterfingers in his mouth, a Kit Kat bar in his hand (that was melting), M&M's in his other hand, and Smarties waiting for him to eat. Then he followed all that up with a orange flavored sucker. Needless to say, he was wired. I never heard him talk, laugh and scream so much. Chase and Cody also played with balloons the whole time, from watching them fly away after letting them go to playing with just air filled one after we got home. We watched Tatum eat cake (which she really didn't like getting it on her). We hope that Tatum have a great birthday (today) and that she enjoyed her birthday party.

Here are some pictures of the boys in their new hats:

STTN!!

I wanted to let everyone know that both Chase and Cody both slept through the night last night!! They both went to bed about 9pm and Chase woke up at 5:30am. He is my morning kid. Cody woke up a little later about 7am. But what a difference a couple of weeks make. I am hopeful that this will continue!!

Of course, Cody didn't sleep at all in his bed, he really likes sleeping on the floor and also under the bed. I guess, his Uncle Daniel used to sleep under his bed also. And when I checked on them at about 3:30am Chase's legs were under his bed. Cody probably told Chase how comfy it is under there so Chase wanted to try it out!!

Baby Name Advisor

I found this on another blog and thought that I would do it for the boys name. Some interesting tidbits from http://www.babyzone.com/. Their numerologist predicts your babies personality based on their name - how many letters, how many are consonants, vowels, etc. Our results:

Chase Alan Jonas

Responsible, caring, loving, nurturing, healing and comforting, the name Chase Alan Jonas is warm and makes one feel loved and special. Harmonious and peaceful, the name Chase Alan Jonas feels good to anyone, but doesn't call up any particular feeling strongly.

Chase Alan Jonas is neutral, suitable for those for whom stability and harmony are high priorities. Good sense of business, but slow and not particularly adaptable. Strong sense of beauty, but not passionate. Idealistic, with a strong sense of justice.

The name Chase Alan Jonas makes one feel like a home away from home. It offers protection and love. It takes away anxiety and fears, and heals the broken-hearted. If you want others to feel like this is their home, this is their safe haven, then this is an excellent name.

The name Chase Alan Jonas attracts money slowly, predictably, the result of effort and common sense.
Chase Alan Jonas's most positive characteristics: Protective, harmonious, comfortable to all.
Chase Alan Jonas's most negative characteristics: Stick-in-the-mud. No passion. (This is untrue - He can give the best kisses!!)

Some other info that is fun: Chase weighs 25 pounds, he is a good eater - likes fruit loops, roast, green beans, applesauce, and mac-n-cheese, he has just recently learned how to jump, his give big hugs, he has these huge crocodile tears and can start at the drop of a hat, his favorite thing to drink is watered down juice and he likes to swing. He has a blankie that he sleeps with that is light blue. Chase has recently started to notice bugs and will tell me that they are there. He likes to get down on his knees and get a good look at all bugs. He gets along great with Cody - but he has done his fair share of biting and hitting him. He likes to read books and sit on two pillows by dad and watch tv.

Cody Richard Jonas

The name Cody Richard Jonas induces a sense of freedom and adventure, risks and rewards, gambling and daring acts of courage. The name has passion and excitement.

One senses that Cody Richard Jonas can do anything, is extremely capable, and a true survivor. It is also highly flexible, can adapt to new circumstances quickly, and has excellent reflexes; often, important decisions are made in seconds, seemingly impulsively even. But due to sharp intuition and even sharper intelligence, those decisions are almost always right on the money.

Youthful, dynamic and energetic, this name draws people who want things to be "different," and don't like the tried and proven.
Social, outgoing, something skirting the acceptable - or even pushing the envelope of what is legal.

Cody Richard Jonas's most positive characteristics: Productive, dynamic, adaptable. Good at promoting self.
Cody Richard Jonas's most negative characteristics: Can be unorganized, scattered. Lacks direction. Needs maturity and discipline.

Some other info that is fun: Cody weighs 28 pounds, he has about 5 minutes to eat a meal at one time - if more time is needed he gets bored. He likes to eat pizza, green beans, corn on the cob, pasta, rice, and steak. He will give up a toy to his brother to play with something else so his brother will stop crying. Cody is always on the move and getting dirty. Cody likes to drink milk all day. He likes to slide at the park. Cody likes to sleep on the floor at night and under his bed. He also likes reading books - especially going to the farm and zoo pop up books. He also has a blankie with a duck attached to it.

Oh I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two!!

Blowing Bubbles

One of the things that the boys love to do right now is play with bubbles. They have such a good time getting the bubble solution on thier hands and all over. Grammy and Pop have these battery operated bubble fans that produce a bunch of bubbles. They like to push the buttons on that and make the bubbles come out. Grammy and Pop have just as much fun playing with the bubbles also!!

Wild Animal Park

On Friday night we went to the Wild Animal Park. It was Chase and Cody's first time and Steve and I hadn't been there since we were their age. We had a lot of fun. We went to ride on the Journey into Africa Tour. That was a little disappointing because you can only see animals from a distance. We did get a great closeup of a giraffe. He was eating. Chase loved looking at all the animals. Right now Chase's favorite animal is the giraffe. Cody really liked the birds. We also saw a lot of zebra and deer. The Rhino that is pictured was due to give birth any day. She was 20 months pregnant and I guess gestation for a Rhino is only 18 months. Somebodies math is wrong!! We didn't get the chance to walk around the rest of the park, so we will be going back so we can see the other animals. We also had ice cream cones before dinner. We then went to Neuvo Grill for dinner. Such good food!!

The boys were exhuasted from there such late night that they slept all night without waking up.

Ring Around the Rosie

Chase and Cody has just recently learned to do Ring Around the Rosie by themselves. They still want me to fall down with them though. Chase will come over to me and put his hands in mine and say "Wanna". I caught it on tape, I can't sing at all so just kind of ignore my voice.

Grandparents and Fishing

Chase, Cody and I went out to my grandparents house on Sunday. The boys have fun playing in the dirt and riding thier bikes. They also look for bugs with Papa and they get so excited when they find a bug. Cody and Chase also helped Papa pull some weeds and put them in a box. They played ball with Grandma. Grandma always has good things to eat also, so much better then what mom brings for them to eat.

While we visiting grandparents, Steve was fishing in the Pacific Ocean. He left on Saturday night with my cousin. They were going with a few friends on a friends boat. They were trying to catch Albacore. The boat was 26' long, the waves are very big in the ocean. They had a great time went as far as 15 miles south on Encenada, Mexico. They were able to snag a few on the line but they all got away. Needless to say, after 24 hours of fishing and no catching, everyone was very tired. Steve says he can't wait to do it again and maybe next time they will actually catch something.

Also an update on Chase and Cody sleeping in the toddler beds. They are doing well actually. They haven't fallen off in the last couple of nights, that I know of. Chase has slept through the night also. Cody still wakes up and he wants Milk. We are not giving anything to drink except for water when they wake up. After a short stay in our bed he falls asleep and back into his bed he goes. They have been napping very well in the beds though. They still sleep about 2-2 1/2 hours for a nap. It is so funny how they sleep so differently, Cody likes to have every blanket and stuffed animal around him and snuggled up with him. Chase doesn't like anything except his blankie, he doesn't even like blankets on him.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July!!!

A day filled with Bar-B-Queing, swimming, ice cream and fireworks. To me that is what this day is made for. Hanging out with friends and family. Thank you to our forefathers for allowing us the ability to do this type of things, you have made America great!!

We went to Mike and Leslie's today for a bar-b-que. The weather was quite hot so we spent a lot of time in the pool. We had hamburgers, pasta salad and some of Lori's beans that were delicious. Chase and Cody had fun playing in the water with Charlie, Cash, Peyton and Jack. We later had some very good ice cream sundea's. Chase had sprinkles on his vanilla ice cream. Cody like the cherries and some whip cream also. Later we are going to see some fireworks.

Night #2

Just a quick note to update on how the sleeping in toddler beds are going. It was a way better night then the first night. However, they both did wake up and ended up on our bed. But at least they fell right back to sleep in about a 1/2 hour. When Cody woke up at 12:30am waking, he cried and when I came into the room I couldn't find him. He then says "Stuck". He was under the bed. He wasn't really stuck but probably a little more confined then he is used too. Leave it to Cody to somehow roll off the bed and then back underneath the bed in a space about 1 foot wide.
