Wishing Well Wednesday

Today is Wishing Well Wednesday with Tabi ... something she has started because everyone has that list of stuff that you wish for.
Today I wish for a Burberry Tote Handbag. My purse is to small now and I love Burberry. It doesn't even have to be original a knockoff would be okay!
I want to hear what you wish for. Play along at:

Way Back When-sday

One of the many times that Cody, Chase and I met Grandma and Papa at a local park. I would normally bring a toy or two and some lunch and we would hang out for a couple of hours.

Happy Birthday Papa

Today would have been my grandfather's 86th birthday. We lost him back in October but the pain is still very strong. Everyday I think of something that I want to tell him. Everyday when I look at my boys I remember that they will never know their great-grandfather the way that I remember him. But they do remember him in little ways.

The other day Chase, Cody and I were eating at Taco Bell and a gentleman that looked simular, same white/silver hair and size, to my papa walked in the door, I really didn't notice it, but the boys yelled out "There's Papa!" I quickly looked up and said "No, that is not Papa". The boys went on to eating but it got me thinking that they probably wonder what happened to him. I never did explain anything to them because I didn't think at 2 years old that they would understand.

So I just wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to you Papa. We miss you. I know that you are looking down on all of us and smiling.

Potty Training

I have to say that they whole potty training thing is awful.

I posted a few weeks ago that Chase was actually potty trained at school - they wrote him off as being such and now he doesn't cost as much to send him and also he can go into another classroom this summer. So he is doing very well at school - no accidents. I have to say at home he has a poop accident every weekend and some nights after school. I am getting very tired of this. This mostly happens when he is playing outside and not interested in stopping what he is doing. I go out and remind him occasionally "Do you have to go potty?" "No Mom" is the response that I get. But in 15, 30, minutes later he could be standing there going poop.

I borrowed a book from a friend about potty training and I also downloaded the "How to potty Train your child in 3 days.", which I haven't totally read, but I am desperate to get him to go poop in the potty. It not like he won't go poop in the potty, just if he's too busy he won't. Both of these books start you from the beginning so I don't know if to start over with him doing one of these methods, but I don't know if I can start somewhere in the middle with just pooping. So frustrating. I have been officially potty training him since October, 2008. He will not wear anything but underwear and at night time it's a struggle to get him to wear pull-ups.

I need help but don't know where to begin.

Now I will move onto Cody. Cody is very shy when it comes too peeing, apparently. Too me he shows no signs of being ready to pee in the toilet - or even in the bath tub. School have him in underwear during the morning and I guess does very well - goes into the bathroom, does something (no one has yet to see him pee) but yet he stays dry. So he holds it until the afternoon and he pees. So I also have him in underwear at evening time after we get home and before bed, thinking that he needs to get used to the feeling of peeing. He has accidents all the time (which is fine) but he doesn't care if he is wet or not - he will continue to play and not even notice it.

But we have motivation to get him potty trained so he too can move up to another class, along with Chase and his best friend Jacob.

From the beginning, I told Chase that he could have a piece of candy if he went poop in the toilet, it worked and he was doing good. Knew that I would offer Cody that same reward. But that doesn't work when he doesn't even want to sit on the toilet.

So I started a potty training chart thing with stickers, get a sticker if you go pee or poop and get a toy or party or money or anything that they want after you fill up this chart of like 25 squares, not too hard right? Well, Chase has two stickers on it and Cody none. I tell Cody when he poops in his diaper he could get a big toy and he will Repeat me I get a sticker and toy but just change me and I will go back to playing.

It's not working...

So my friends, can someone give me any advice, hits, tips what should I do differently...

I know this was a very missed up post with no pictures, but thanks for letting me vent a little.

Giant Slide

This afternoon on our way home we stopped a local working farm that has a giant slide that kids can play on. Almost everyday the boys see this slide and ask if they could go on it. We are always on our way home, and don't have time to stop. Well today we stopped and boy did they have fun!

Going up the big ladder!

Cody face after he finished sliding his first slide.

Chase on his way down his first time.

Cody his second time down the slide.

Both of them with smiles!

And a video of some giggling boys going down the slide. (Sorry that some of the video is sideways...I forget that I can't video tape sideways from my camera)

Seaworld

We spent our Saturday at Seaworld. We had so much fun.

Watching the dolphins

Dolphin jumping out of the water. The dolphins were a hit with the kids.

We fed the seals some fish.

The gang.

Chase's arm painting a dolphin.

Cody's leg painting of Shamu, the killer whale.

We played with star fish. Chase wanted to take one home.
We also rode in the Elmo's Flying Fish. Cody didn't want to go, he didn't like the look of it. Christina took Chase and Tyler took Tatum.

Everyone had a great time. We stayed all day and didn't leave until 6pm. The kids were tired and so were the adults!

What a Mess

While I was putting this cute decorative thing together tonight,
Chase and Cody thought it would be fun to play with the packaging that this came in. I didn't think it was a big deal so it was keeping them busy. This is what I found about 2 minutes after they started.
STYROFOAM EVERYWHERE!!

So since they made the mess, I figured I would give them the vacuum and they can start cleaning up the mess, while I finished putting this thing together.

Here they are vacuuming up the mess. They got tired after about 2 minutes of vacuuming so I finished it and it took another 30 minutes to clean up. I would vacuum a place and the styrofoam would fly into the area again. I am still picking up a few pieces here and there and probably will for a while.
I know they had a good time, because they wanted to do it again with the other pieces of sytrofoam in the box. I quickly took everything outside!!

Two for Twos-day

Chase and Cousin Tatum walking up a big hill after our Easter egg hunt this weekend.
Play along with Eight is Great.

Easter

We had a lovely Easter with family. Steve's parents, grandparents, brother and sister-in-law and niece, niece and nephew and my grandma all came to our house for a very good brunch (machaca, potatoes, Belgium waffles, beans, rice), and a super big easter egg hunt.
Between the 5 kids (3 little ones and 2 bigger ones) they had 200 plastic eggs to find.
It took them a while to find all of them. Steve, Daniel and Tyler started playing h-o-r-s-e by throwing the football and hittting a different target.
We got a lot of laughs out of that.

It was a beautiful day outside.

Grammy made this very cute bunny cake.

Saturday's Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, we went a local park for a Easter Egg hunt. We had went the year before also and had so much fun, that we had to do it again. We met some of our friends there along with Tatum. The weather had turned out good for the hunt. It had drizzled the night before so there wasn't that many kids there for the hunt.

Chase and Cody waiting for the hunt to begin.

I got Easter Bunny Pictures with both boys!

Cody grabbing an egg.

Chase putting a precious egg in his basket!

All in all we had a great time!! We will be back again next year!
