Way Back When-sday

This weekend we will be going to the annual Destruction Derby.

What do don't know what a Destruction Derby is? It's a Crush-up car race. You take a old car and put mud in an arena and let the car go at it slamming into each other, who ever is the last car moving is the winner. We do this through his work. It is a industry event that is state wide.

Looking back through the years at the cars that Steve has drove....
last years car
'05 car
'04 car - our first year. Not knowing what to expect...
These cars do not look like this after the race is over. They are pretty smashed up and not even drivable!
We will have fun this weekend!! If I don't blog after this you know why...
Have a great weekend!!

Makes My Monday - Mommy & Me

What a great weekend we had!
We rode in the Lakeside Western Days Parade with the boys schoolon Saturday.

We had about an hour wait for our turn which we had to stay on our float and everyone did very well. But the weather was perfect sunny and warm but not too warm.

Bronsen and Braden (cousins) was also on float with us, so that was very fun and it was nice to be able to hang out with them!

I really wish that they would of let me tuck in their shirts this picture would have looked much better. But just to try to get them both looking at me it took a miracle so this is what I get!

Grandma, Grammy and Pop waiting for us on the parade route.
Play along with what makes your Monday here:
I grab Chase on the float and pointed the camera and this is what I got for my Mommy and Me picture.

Sewing and Reading

Presenting my latest quilt...

I made this one from the same pattern as my last quilt. I think it turned out good. They are so easy to make and I gave this one to Chase. He really liked it, but I think Cody was just as excited about the finished product.

I think I would like to make more of these and would like to try to put together another one more girlish and see how it turns out.

Now off to the fabric store to see what I can come up with to do next!

----------------------------------------------------------

I have finished reading my latest book...3rd series of the Manning Series - The Manning Grooms. Very good series of books. I loved reading books like that and it sweeps me away into a different time, place and life.

I will have to go now to the used book store and see what I can find to read next!

Two for Twos-day

Picture from Easter at our house. Chase and Tatum riding their quads and holding the new pinwheels they had got in their Easter baskets.

Notice that Tatum is wearing her Minnie Mouse dress that I made her also! It fits good and is pretty cute on her!

The two of them love playing together!

Muffin Tin Monday

It's time again that I fixed the boys a special meal to go along with the themes of

This weeks theme is Leftovers Rock...

We don't eat much leftovers, but I had a few things that I just threw together for the boys to eat.

White rice, and brown rice (with BBQ sauce on it), green beans, lasagna and a piece of bread with butter.

Chase wasn't feeling well that night and didn't eat anything. Cody ate his white rice, bread and butter and a few green beans.

Mommy and Me / Makes My Monday

This weekend we played a lot in our new flat back yard! We also worked a little in our backyard. We planted one of the banks with ground cover. We need to go and get more and some other taller plants, but it's a work in progress.

I don't think you can see the actual little plants here but this is the bank we are planting.

We stayed home all day on Sunday and we played. The boys rode their quads up and down the jump as they call it. Which I don't think I have any of. Picture opportunity next time the boys are riding!

The boys played in the dirt and was making mud balls.

Chase so proudly showing off his mud balls! He likes to roll the dirt around and then put them in the sun to dry.

We also played softball, will actually it's just me throwing the ball, them batting and they running to go it the ball.

Cody action shot of him batting. He was doing really good today and not getting as flustered if he didn't hit the ball. He hit it a few times and really enjoyed himself. Chase is a good batter and can connect with the ball most of the time (as long as mom throws it right!)

Chase took this picture of Cody and I playing. It's not the greatest picture, very far away looking but it's still Cody and I!

All of the special time this weekend with my boys really made it a good weekend! I had even a chance to start to read a new book! My new book is the 3rd series of the Manning Series: The Manning Grooms. I have enjoyed it so far and can't wait to read it more!

All of this Makes My Monday!!! Click here to play along:

Baby Picture Sunday

Baby Picture Sunday is back over at Debi's and I love going through old picture to come up with the picture that matches the theme.

Today's theme is Mellow Yellow and I didn't know if I would find the boys dressed in yellow. I know that yellow isn't one of their favorite colors and at this time I don't think either of them own a yellow shirt. But back when mom was dressing them, apparently they wore yellow.

Way Back When-sday / Say What Wednesday

I am still posting Easter pictures from years before because this year Easter snuck up on me and went away so quickly that I didn't get to post Way back pictures.

When the boys were 10 months I did a photo shoot with them and plastic eggs, bunny ears and Easter baskets. These were some of the pictures from that photo shoot.

Chase eating plastic eggs!
Cody also chewing on a plastic egg, they must taste good!

-------------------------------------------------------------
It seems like when the boys say something funny or bizarre I don't remember it long enough to write it down and play along with Missy and others, but I have been trying to remember little sayings or conversations that Chase and Cody say...
The other morning in the car going to school:
Cody: Chase put on your sunglasses, here comes the sun.
Chase: No, I don't want my sunglasses, I like the sun and I don't want it to go away.
Chase: I am tired of the rain (in a whisper)
(I don't blame him)
In the car, Cody telling me what the racecar will sound like:
Cody: Mom, I think the racecar will sound like a Bang, bang, Squeak, Squeak.
Me: Really? I sure hope we don't have any squeak squeaks in it.
Cody: It going to...
I love listening to Chase and Cody have a conversation between the two of them:
Chase: What do you think the farmer is doing right now?
(I am not sure where this came from, but okay)
Cody: He is feeding the big horses right now. Pretty soon he will feed the little horses.
(Cody then turns into a horse making horse noises)
Chase: Hey horse, when is the farmer going to feed the pig?
Cody: I am the farmer now, I will go and feed the pig now.
Chase: Okay, don't forget to feed the ducks also.
There are so many more conversations like the one above that I just don't remember the whole thing, but I am always like what? where did this come from, or what are they doing?
It is funny...play along also with funny things your kids say here:

Two for Twos-day

Chase and Cody have been asking to go back to a little working farm that we pass everyday on our way to school. Victoria Gardens is only open on the weekends, and lately our weekends have been busy so it's always when we have time. I took the time on Saturday and we went.

They had a blast. They absolutely love the giant slide and didn't want to get off. We bought enough tickets for them to stay on for 20 minutes, and they enjoyed every bit of it. The weather was perfect for sliding jumping and petting bunnies in the petting zoo.

Here is Chase and Cody getting off the slide ready to it again.

Play along with Debi here:

Cody going down the giant slide, I don't know if you can see the giant smile on his face, but it was there!
Chase trying to hide from me and my camera in the giant obstacle course. Another thing that they spent some time on!

They had a blast and maybe for a week or so I won't hear "Mom, can we go there again?". Instead I will hear "Mom, we had fun." "We did that slide, and we went super fast."

Muffin Tin Monday

I threw together a "special" Muffin Tin dinner for this weeks theme:

Color Series: Rainbow

Red ketchup, Orange chicken nuggets, yellow popcorn, green beans, and a blueberry shake. Couldn't think of anything purple!

Pop and Grammy gave us this trays also, aren't' they cute? I really liked making a dinner with them. They are perfect for the boys "special" lunch/dinner's!

Mommy and Me

I wasn't able to get a my camera turned around on me for this week and I am bummed that I didn't, but a couple of weeks ago we were at the park and Chase took this cute one of Cody and I.

I was trying to take self imagines of both of the boys and myself, but Chase really didn't want his picture taken, so he asked if he could take my and Cody's picture. I hesitated to let him take my camera, just because I wasn't sure if a 3 1/2 year old was serious about actually taking my picture of just running around with a camera. But sure enough he stood back and looked at the picture thing and snapped the picture perfectly!

Snoozin In Saturday's

This is Cody sleeping under his crib/toddler bed. He would sleep like that almost every night.

I am not sure if he would fall out of bed or if he just wanted to sleep on the floor after he woke up, but he would then crawl/roll under the bed and sleep very soundly under there. There was a couple of times that he would wake up though and not realize where he was and try to get out of there and bump his head. It was a great stage of sleeping. Of course, his blankie was always very close by!

Photo Story Friday

Every holiday, Steve's dad and his fiancee, Grandpa and Grandma, mail awesome gifts to Chase and Cody! Since they live in Oregon they don't see Chase and Cody opening the packages, so here they are enjoying your Easter gifts!
Their Easter package arrived on Friday before Easter and the boys were so excited! There is always so much good stuff, including candy and toys, inside these boxes!
Just peaking inside waiting for it jump out at them!
Chase of course, finding the candy first inside the box.

Cody found the monster truck and the candy at the same time! He was so excited for both of them!
Chocolate Easter bunny!
They each got a Mickey Mouse puzzle that we put together that night. Chase really understood the whole puzzle with the straight sides being put together first and then fill in the middle. Cody helped also!
Chase opening up his card so I Can read it to him. He wanted to make sure who it was from!
Thank you Grandpa and Grandma!! The love that is included inside the box is awesome also! The boys love receiving you packages.
Thank you also for the wonderfully tasting beef jerky! Chase and Cody like the beef sticks also!
