Books, Backyard, and Work

I have been swept away with this little thing called a romance book.

I am reading The Manning Series books by Debbie Macomber. I am reading book #2 right now The Manning Brides. I am useless to my family right now until I get it out of my system. It is taking everything right now to type this and not be curled up reading.

So until I get this out of my system...I will be gone into another world of reading!

------------------------------------------------

I am also getting ready for a small Easter celebration at my house on Saturday. I can't wait and should be fun. I have filled probably 100 and something plastic eggs which we will hide on Saturday. With our new flat backyard it will be fun!
-------------------------------------------------
I am also going back to work - part time - 3 days a week starting on Monday. So I have been getting my routine back for working. I can't wait! I have loved spending the time with Chase and Cody but I have also missed actually learning and working. It's hard to explain but I am looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead of me. I have to learn a new computer system along with a new accounting program but thinking that it will be fun to learn something new.

-----------------------------------------------

I am going tomorrow to get my next sewing project. I know starting a sewing project before starting work not a good idea but I am hoping still to have enough time to myself that I can continue to work on my hobby!

---------------------------------------------
The weather here the last few days have been perfect, and the boys are just loving the new flat backyard! They even loved the almost flat backyard while the tractor was working. They got out their dump trucks one evening after the tractor stopped working and went to work putting lots of miles on those tires!

Mommy and Me

Playing around in the doctors office waiting for the doctor I started taking pictures. This one ended up pretty cute and perfect for Mommy and Me!

Chase and I...

Makes My Monday

What a last few days that we have had around here. Noticed I haven't been on at all?

Well, when I have a huge tractor pushing many ton's of dirt to make my backyard flat, I need to keep a extra close eye on two 3 year old that insist that playing by the tractor is a good idea.

So we had the tractor delivered on Wednesday night and the next 3 days that tractor would be pushing dirt around. It's pretty cool to watch the operator work with the dirt and knock down the huge mountain we had in our backyard.

I will take more pictures today. These pictures were from Thursday when he was just beginning. It is almost completely flat now. Oh the fun just now begins, we have so many options we could do from pools to landscape to green grass to more concrete.

We just have to decide now what to do and how much money we are going to spend on it!

I better go and get all my stuff done before the tractor starts up again today and I have to keep a watchful eye on the boys. They are loving the tractor and the fresh dirt and mud that has come with our new backyard. More pictures and stories to come.

Sewing Project

For the last few months, since being out of a job, I have been trying to find a hobby to get into. The boys are old enough now that they can play by themselves more, so I am finding I have more time to myself.

I started out with doing cross-stitching years ago. I have made some really cool pictures-maybe I should post a couple of them sometime...but anyways I started that up again and it just didn't feel right. I think my eyes have become old and it was hard to see all the little holes and what not. I was very bummed because I didn't know what else to do.

Oh I could read, but once I get lost in a book that only takes a couple of days and then I am trying to find another book to complete. My family would get tired of seeing nothing of me but a book in my face. I still needed a hobby, something that I am interested in, but not something that I would get lost in.

I inherited my mom's sewing machine and it was like I couldn't touch it because it belong to her and one of her most valued possessions. I needed to get some pants hemmed and thought I could just do it on this sewing machine myself. I have sewing background from my mom and my grandma. I finished all my mending and hemming and was looking for another project. It was like this was suppose to be my hobby. It was just enough to hold my attention and still be able to put it down to fix dinner or something.

So as I am looking around for projects or something to make. I think my niece, Tatum, loves Minnie Mouse, everything Minnie Mouse. Why not make her a Minnie Mouse dress. So I found a pattern and the red and white polka dotted material and went to work. This really was my first dress that I had made and it turned out very cute.

I will post a picture of Tatum in her Minnie Mouse dress when she sees it. Now, if you have seen the new Minnie Mouse, she is in pink and pink and white polka dots. I think I will be making another dress soon.

So I have found something that I really do like and can't wait to start making more things. Hey, maybe I will even start selling the stuff!

Makes My Monday

At the beginning of the weekend, we really didn't have anything going on, but it seemed like we stayed busy and had fun all weekend.

Saturday morning to watch the local baseball fields to watch the t-ball game going on. We know 4 of the players ranging in ages of 4 and 6. Oh how fun it is to watch 4 year old play! Chase and Cody both would like to play when they become old enough.

Saturday night, we were invited to our friend, The Greens, house for a BBQ. Their were 5 couples their with the kids. Everyone got along so good and had a great time with some delicious food to eat!

Sunday, we went to visit the race car at the repair shop. Yes, it went from a race car to a bunch of metal tubes but it's suppose to be ready in about 4-5 weeks. We will only miss 2 races. The boys still had fun playing with stuff at the repair shop and feeding the horses!

We had a wonderful weekend with absolutely beautiful weather and the memories of family time Makes My Monday!

Muffin Tin Monday, Magic Marker Monday

It's Monday and time for another Muffin Tin Monday. This weeks theme was No theme. It's a time to do your own thing.

I took just a regular meal of wild rice with BBQ sauce, green beans with sour cream mixed in, meatballs with BBQ sauce and chiro's in my new 4 divider plates that I bought at the dollar store!

Chase and Cody loved this meal, since it's all their favorite food! Play along also here:

Chase and Cody made these great leprechauns with their hand prints at school and I wanted to show them off! The black hat is made with construction paper and glued on. It was a cute project that I hadn't seen done before!

Took a bloggy break this week
I haven't wanted to sit down at the computer and type even though I have things to put on my blog. I have been visiting a few of my bloggy friends, but not all of them. Maybe I will get back into it this week.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Honey!

Steve is turning 34 years old today!

This picture was taken last year on his birthday. I had a small dinner party with just family. This year he is going out to dinner with his mom and dad, and the guy who building the race car. They need to talk about race car stuff! I will be going to a school parent meetings to talk about Kindergarten (which isn't for another 1 1/2 years, but I want to get the scoop now.)

We will be having a little dinner and cake for him in a couple of nights. The boys want to sing him Happy Birthday!

Muffin Tin Monday

I had so much fun planning this weeks muffin tin meal for today. Today's theme is the color GREEN
There are so much stuff that you can make green!! Play along here:

I wanted to do breakfast yesterday morning but since the boys weren't here for breakfast I changed it to this morning. Their special breakfast was:

Green Jello, Green Banana's, Green Eggs, Lucky Charms, Green Pancakes and syrup to dip in. They also had green milk. Their snack this morning is going to be a green ice cream shake!
They really enjoyed their Green Breakfast!!

Mommy and Me

I did capture a picture of Cody and I at the zoo while we were looking at the elephants. I love this that I am trying to get pictures of me and the kids.

Krystyn came up with the idea of getting us moms in front of the camera with our kids, so we have picture with them! It had been fun playing along! Play along here:

Makes My Monday

We had a busy weekend but oh what fun!

On Friday we went to the Zoo with Grammy and Pop. We only had about 3 hours to be able to walk around, because I had to get home for my garbage disposal to be replaced, but that was just enough time to stretch our legs and see a few animals. We went to the zoo thinking that the new enclosure for the polar bears were open but it doesn't open until the end of March, so we saw the elephants and a Jaguar, and some lions.

On Saturday morning, we headed out to my grandma's for some cleaning up and removal of some of Papa's old stuff. My Uncle, cousin Daniel and his kids, Bronsen and Braden, were out there also. Steve brought out a trailer because he wanted to have some old engines of my grandfathers for the race car. So we got that cleaned up. While everyone was working very hard, so were the 4 boys.
They each had a shovel, rake, or hoe and had to do so much work. Believe me they were just having fun playing in some great dirt! And so the work and play time continued through out the morning.
Good picture of Cody, Chase, and Bronsen. Uncle Steve was "getting" them with the end of the tape measure. Braden was the smart one he was running for being "got". It was funny!
They also found a big pile of dirt to slid up and down on. That was the best!

All of them sitting down having a snack of a cookie!

After all that fun, we went to my in-laws - for them to watch Chase and Cody while I went to a baby shower. The boys were having so much fun with Tatum that when I came to pick them up, they said "No, we want to stay here with Tatum. Bye Mom! Kind of broke my heart but, I let them stay with Grandma and Grandpa and Tatum. I guess they were really good and had a great time!

Sunday, I went to pick back up the boys and we came home to play in the sunshine! It was a beautiful day yesterday. I hope your weekend was everything you wanted!

Alphabitty Moments

As I was looking for some new meme's and new bloggers to meet I came across this and I knew I wanted to be apart of it.

This is what MamaBear says about the Blog Carnival: The carnival starts, Thursday, February 26th, 2009 with the letter 'A' . Then for the next 25 weeks we'll all work our way through the alphabet, photographing "a little thing" that begins with the letter of the week. Feel free to work ahead if you want. I know I like to be able to write when I can and then use the schedule post option to spread out the frequency of my entries.

I like this so I can capture little things that my boys are growing up and out of.

So this week is the Letter S -

Soon the toy screw, screw drivers, and saws will be replaced with the real stuff.

Way Back When-sday / Say What Wednesday

We had so much fun with that pool of balls when the boys were about 10 months old. They would play in it for hours. Then we would throw the balls and the balls would be all over the house.

Lately, it's been like pulling teeth to get the boys to clean up their toy messes. But this conversation didn't go the way I wanted it to...
Me: If you don't start picking up your toys now, the ones I pick up I am going to throw away.
Cody: Okay, mom, after I get done playing with this.
Me: No, I mean now. Okay I am going to throw this and this away, because you are not helping pick up toys.
Chase: Can you just throw them all away, then there wouldn't be any toys for me to pick up.
Chase then proceeds to start throwing away toys...

Two for Twos-day

On Sunday, while the boys where staying out of the rain, I captured this picture of the two of them together. It's hard these days to have them in the same picture. They were watching dad and the motorhome get pulled out of the soft sand where we were camped.

Muffin Tin Monday

For lunch today, I fixed the boys a Muffin Tin Lunch. The theme this week is YELLOW...

I knew I wanted to continue doing this, because the boys really like having a special lunch!

My picture is turned wrong but, I fixed them potato chips (kind of yellow), corn onthe cob, vanilla pudding with yellow food coloring, popcorn, egg salad, and pineapples.
Cody loved the pineapples and Chase loved the pudding! They both loved the corn on the cob...
Can't wait until next week theme of Green!!

Mommy and Me

I took this picture last week of the boys, Diesel and myself while we were playing for the first time Chutes and Ladders game.

Take a picture of you and your kids and play along here!
